If this team is still losing too many of these close games next year then you have to start talking about changes.

But in my opinion the first two years of this new coaching staff have been sucessful.
lol whoops don't know how that "more" got in there, I just meant 2 years. So yeah this would be one of those. To be honest I love the attitude and values these coaches have instilled in this team. Daboll's done alright, but he's real weak when it comes to making adjustments, perhaps in the offseason he'll improve, hopefully anyway. Maybe if the FO decides to keep everyone around, Holmgren can give Daboll some pointers.

I think we are 2 years away from being a playoff contender.

And I'm not counting this year.

For us to be a legit playoff contender next year, we'll need to have a VERY GOOD off season. Meaning, several really solid FA pick-ups AND nailing the draft.

Holmgren said right out of the hop that this was going to be a process that would take a few years and that we would not just become an overnight success story. Its' hard to refute the progress that the team has shown this season from last and I think we are so much better we look like a completely different team on the field. We look focused, the team's playing hard and we're keeping in games until the end. Not just like one or two games either, we've been in it in pretty much EVERY game we have played this year. That could not be said for any of the 10 previous seasons for the Cleveland Browns before this year in the post-expansion era. I look forward to another offseason with our focused front-office. Heckert's a smart guy and he knows that we need to improve certain areas of this team. I think we will bring in the people to improve even more-so next year. I think that a .500 season is reasonable expectation for next year and even playoffs the year after with the progression that we have shown.

BROWNS 2012: We have our "New Offense" It's Put up or shut up time.
Weeden gives us a QB with skills McCoy does not have.
Richardson gives us a HB with abilities the Browns have not seen in decades!
The message is clear, we want to score more than 13.6 PPG this year.

WOOF WOOF WOOF!
