Default Delhomme to start vs Jimmy Pickle

Jake Delhomme, QB, Cleveland BrownsWednesday 11/24, 1:53 PM CT
Jake Delhomme will regain his starting job for Week 12's game against the Panthers. Colt McCoy will miss the game due to a high ankle sprain.

Our View: Delhomme has appeared in just two games this season and managed to toss four interceptions in those appearances. He's certainly not a good play, but could put up a decent line against the Panthers.

Colt McCoy, QB, Cleveland BrownsWednesday 11/24, 1:50 PM CT
Updating a previous report, ESPN.com confirms that Colt McCoy will not be available for Week 12's game against the Panthers due to a high ankle sprain. Jake Delhomme will make the start.

Our View: McCoy won't be missed much by fantasy owners as his numbers have failed to make much of a positive impact. However, his competitiveness had the Browns just a score away from beating the Jets and Jags and he did lead the Browns to wins over the Saints and Patriots.

Jimmy Clausen, QB, Carolina PanthersWednesday 11/24, 12:44 PM CT
Jimmy Clausen was back in practice on Wednesday, according to Darin Gantt. He missed last week with a concussion, but appears to be the favorite to start for the Panthers this week against the Browns.

Our View: Though he will likely get the start, Clausen is not worth your fantasy consideration. He's tossed 138 passes this season and averaged just five yards per attempt. He has just one touchdown against four interceptions.

Looks like Delhomme will get his revenge game. He should be inspired.. I just want a win!! (sorry for the weird cut and paste jobs)

Unreal. Three high ankle sprains at the QB position this year? I guess the curse of staph infections was just replaced with the ankle joint this year.

This sucks ass. It would have been so sweet to watch Colt beat up Fuck Nuts head to head, but I reckon Jake will be okay. Just don't give the game away Jake!

That would have been cool to watch Colt out play The Pickle. Oh well, somewhere a self described life long Browns fan and QB guru will be cheering on the greatest Notre Dame QB since some guy named Joe Montana played there (cough, cough, B.S.) just to prove some of us wrong for being Clossen haters.

He shouldn't need to throw much. I full expect the Hillis train to be the primary show on Sunday.

I am bummed Colt cannot play Pickle head to head too... but I am also curious to see what this offense will do with a true veteran...The last time Jake was healthy (first 1/2 of week one) we did not know what we had in Hillis and our defense was still testing it's sea legs with a lot of new starters.. So It will be interesting to see what we look like with Delhomme... I just hope he does not try to do TOO much against his old team to make a point and screw it up in the process...But Jake does not seem like ...that guy.. I just want a win.

I was thinking the same thing.

Delhomme, in the first half before the injury, put up 14 points and had the following stats:
10/16, 101 yds, TD
He completed 4 to his WR's, 3 to his TE's, and 3 to his RB's. In other words, he was spreading the ball around and moving the offense.

I hope he comes back in and does it again...even though I also hope that Colt is back in the saddle next week.

What if Jake plays well and wins a couple games before Colt is healed - is Colt going to be the starter again?

That is a good question; I think it depends on much time it takes McCoy to heal. If he is ready to go in two weeks than I think he becomes the starter again, but if it's longer than I think Delhomme keeps it until next year.
