(1) 7. Joe Haden-CB Florida
Joe Haden seems to be the consensus selection for the Browns, especially if Eric Berry is selected earlier. I firmly believe that Tampa Bay will select Berry with the third overall selection. Haden would bring speed and tackling ability to our secondary.

(2) 38. Brandon Spicks-ILB Florida
Brandon Spikes was once considered a sure-fire first round pick. Concerns about his speed and an eye-gouging incident have hurt his draft stock, but if he falls to the Browns in the second round they should jump on the opportunity to draft him.

(3) 71. Jordon Shipley-WR Texas
Jordan Shipley catches the football.

(3) 92. Myron Rolle-S Florida State
Some experts think Myron Rolle is a reach in the third round, but he showed up to Senior Bowl in great shape, got better, and looked more comfortable throughout the week. With Mangini's love for smart, intellectual football players, and the number of draft picks in this years

(4) 102. Dennis Pitta- TE BYU
Dennis Pitta has the prototypical size for an NFL tight end. Pitta does not have elite athleticism, but he runs good routes and has solid hands. Best case scenario he develops into a Heath Miller style tight end.

(5) 130. Riley Cooper- WR Florida
Most Browns fans want the team to acquire Kevin Walter this offseason. They could draft a Kevin Walter clone in Riley Cooper instead. At 6-2 220 lbs Cooper has the size to be the possession receiver the Browns so desperately need. He was noted at the Senior Bowl for using his hands to catch the ball and using his frame to shield defenders from the ball.

(5) 133 Sam Young- OT Notre Dame
Sam Young struggled with footwork at the Senior Bowl, but as a four year starter at Notre Dame he has plenty of experience with NFL blocking schemes. He would need to switch to the right side, which works perfectly for the Browns.

(5)156 Joique Bell- RB Wayne State (Michigan)
Bell is off-the-radar playing for small Wayne State, but at 5-11 225 lbs he could be the power back the Browns need to compliment Jerome Harrison in the backfield.

(6)167. Brandon Carter- OG Texas Tech
Brandon Carter was a First-Team All-American in 2008 after allowing zero sacks. While there are concerns about his weight, and a team suspension, he does play with a mean streak that the Browns offensive line could use. He was also a team captain prior to his suspension.

(6) 176 Matt Nichols- QB Eastern Washington
Nichols is relatively unknown, but he managed to turn several heads at the East-West Shrine Game. He would be a developmental prospect at this point, but he is definitely worth a shot this late in the draft.

(7) 198. O'Brien Schofield- LB Wisconsin
Schofield was probably a second round prospect after a strong showing at both the Shrine Game and Senior Bowl practice. Knowing he could be asked to transition from defensive end to outside linebacker, he worked as a linebacker both places. Unfortunately, he tore a ligament in his knee during Senior Bowl practice.

Somebody likes white WRs...

Seriously, if we brought in a veteran WR and then drafted Shipley and Cooper? Well... it's too many WRs, frankly. We need one vet and one rookie, probably in the first two rounds but conceivably in the third.

Sam Young played on the right side at ND, and he still sucked.

I don't necessarily hate him as a 5th round pick, given that he's a hard worker and a decent technician. But I don't see him having the anchor strength or agility to start at right tackle, and he's too tall to provide depth at guard.

Beat me to it. Although I'll add he was their best OL. Which might be part of the story behind Kiper upping Claustrich.

I think Clausen gets "warrior points" for playing hurt behind an iffy line... and I do believe scouts and GMs will find him a likable guy next week, not the Tool King he was somehow spun as in South Bend.

I have a gut that was more complicated than just a raging ego screaming out of control. Teams always have factions.

Sam Young is terrible. Count me in as somebody who doesn't want him on the team at all, even as an UDFA.
