If im not mistaked Jakes contract had escalators UP to 7 mil. It wasn't a 7 mil base pay contract and i don't think any of it was guaranteed. So yeah its a non issue.

We tried for Boldin...he refused to come here for an interview if you remember right. In fact, with our QB situation the way it was I wouldn't be surprised if ALL the WR FA's refused to come here.

You guys act like that money is coming out of your pocket.. It matters not at all because it's not effecting the cap and our ability to get other players..The ONLY way it matters is if we don't have money for other guys because we are paying Delhomme and that's not the case.. Sure he is overpaid..There is not one guy on any roster in american bigtime pro sports that is not overpaid.. When I was a little kid, the NFL players lived right down the street in a similar house and earned JUST A LITTLE more than what the neighborhood average was...Now..they can buy the neighborhood.

You know what, in the end Jake is a consummate professional. I don't care how much money he makes or that he has a penchant to make a pass that he probably shouldn't. He's the kind of person I would want on my team with a great attitude and the veteran presence to help our Quarterback Messiah grow and learn some things that I bet you he wouldn't learn from Seneca Wallace. No slight to Wallace but I am thinking Jake has a thing or two up his sleeve compared to the career backup QB.

Weeden gives us a QB with skills McCoy does not have.
Richardson gives us a HB with abilities the Browns have not seen in decades!
The message is clear, we want to score more than 13.6 PPG this year.

WOOF WOOF WOOF!
