Default Joe Haden for president

He had a great game. Confidence is building in him in his first NFL year. Great to see it.

Player of the game: Haden
Honorable mentions: Bowens and Big Baby

A W is a W. They had more on the line than we did and we still gritted it out. Beats an ugly loss.

Now we've had great looking wins (Pats & Saints) and ugly ones (Panthers & Dolphins). Good teams have to win both.

We're slowly getting there.

I really dont believe it was an ungly win. It was a good tough defensive battle and we came out on top. To me thats a solid win.

It was VERY ugly offensively.

Jake Delhomme looked like Derek Anderson in the 2nd half of 2007 out there with constant 3 and outs.

Delhomme is a mix of Derek Anderson's retardedness and Charlie Frye's uncanny ability to throw the ball for 5 yards.

As much as I've despised Daboll up till this point, I do have to give him credit for one thing. He actually adjusted at halftime and started throwing on a day where the defense was committed to stopping Hillis

Miami does have a good defense and they was able to contain our only real weapon on offense, which is Hillis. So ya, our offense didnt look very good. Made the game a defensive struggle and our defense came out on top. Good game imo.

We got our Minnifield.
Where is our Dixon?
Mad props to Joe Haden,we witnessed a rookie become a stud in the NFL today.
Whenever his career ends I'm sure he will point to today as the day when he "got it".
We have a beast in the makings...

Agree. I thought about starting a "Do we really want Daboll fired?" thread, but picked a Haden thread instead.

I think we left South Beach without injuries too. Good good.

It can be argued about their defense. Their pass defense is mediocre, IMO. Their safeties struggle, which is a big reason why Watson had like 10 catches.

I think Colt may have fared a bit better. But we'll never know.

Regardless, a win is a win.

Smile
We won a game that you probably would have shouted (probably did) from the highest mountain we would lose.
Enjoy it.
Were a bad team rising from the ashes, not the other way around.

Even the announcers were like "the tackle was made by...and there on the pass break up....Joe Haden again!" He was everywhere today, great game Joe!

The first play that Joe made was awesome after he looked like he was beat and came back to deflect the pass.

Here I thought Haden wasn't fast enough to play corner in the NFL? I also remember someone said it was stupid to take a corner at #7 because they aren't that much of difference makers.

Miami has an impressive defense, not sure how that can be argued.

Like eq said, a good defensive battle ....albeit with two crap offenses. The fact we scored as much as we did is almost a surprise to me, with what we have to work with and Hillis shut-out. Thank God Watson wasn't gimpy this week.
