PGL.. I was talking about Gruden's son being a Jr. in high School. I imagine with Gruden doing MNF he is gone much of the season...So his kid being a reliable source was a joke to me.. I was not coming after you PGL ..but the source of the rumor (Deuce Gruden).

I had no idea how old you were until you mentioned it. I think you are a good poster.. (thanks Hiway for helping)
I don't know about the Dez comments..those must be from other posters..But Dez would have been a good pick for us too.. Broken ankle or not..Haden was a need pick that worked and Dez would have been the same.. So.. don't let people get you down on Dez.. He's a great talent. For me..our 1st pick was Dez or Haden.. I was more for Dez..but happy with Haden..even happier now that he is really showing up.

Yes,the league has changed...but nothing has changed in the fact the QB,OL, and RB are the most important positions on the team....I wont be surprised if Chucky gets the gig here...I'll just stick by what Holmgren said "We have to pass the ball better late in the seaon"...We did it Graham,Ryan,Sipe and Kosar....We can doit with Colt and still be a power running team....I dont think Holgren is completely happy...but thats just My two cents.

Well come to the big leagues sir. Who was the guy posting EVERY WEEK when Dez had a good game and a good highlight and talking about how good he would have looked on our team? Constantly, over and over, reminding us of your opinion?

Now that's it's sadly turned to a bad end of the season for Dez, you don't get to be the guy who determines when we can bring it up. That's not how it works.

Nobody is bashing you but you don't make friends in a forum by pointing your finger and saying I told you so and ignoring others opinions as much as stating yours as fact.

True enough. PGL, if you want people to listen as i've said before on here, stop trying to be like Shemp. People really, REALLY don't like the "I told you so" stuff. The first time, yeah okay "let's get it over with" and have a thread. Multiple times though? You're going to get tuned out after awhile. Oh and as Golfer is showing, going to get it back from everyone. Just a suggestion.

What the deuce?

I'm not enabling new coaching discussion while we still have our Head Coach and unless we manage to tank these last 4 games badly I am pretty sure Mangini's here to stay. Show some confidence guys. I know he's not a favorite but he's not deserving of all the flak he gets. I'm not ready for Gruden to come strutting in, instill a new mentality in this team and have another season or two of transition when we're clearly on the verge of hitting the next level as an NFL Team.

Little Jon is still a junior and he said Big Jon will not get into coaching again until after Lil Jon finishes H.S. I think this is cryptic for Holmgren saying "Mangini - you get one more year, get the Browns in the playoffs or else Gruden gets your job!"

My personal opinion - Mangini has us in the playoffs next year and sticks around for at least a couple years after that.

I look at our offense..Right now it is geared to Hillis behind Vickers or Hillis as oneback.. Hardesty is allso a ground pounder.. Does that really fit what a guy like Gruden even does? I'm not sure he is a fit with what we have built thus far..Not to say he cannot adapt..he's a smart guy.. I don't want a teardown again when we are on the right course.. All that being said.. I still see no just cause to fire Mangini. I am not saying he's the perfect coach.. there is no such thing.

Mangini loves playing this power games. He lost in New York, but that is New York. Cleveland is much easier to manipulate.
He was 10-6 in NY and 9-7 when he had healthy starting QBs for 12-16 weeks. I think we understand the 9-7 would have been much better if Favre didn't injure his throwing arm with a few weeks remaining. There was really only 1 losing season when he had a career backup QB filling in. Just out of curiosity, how many games have the Colts won over the years while resting the starting QB? I'd say that's pretty equivalent to a team in transition where 3 different Qbs had to wear a prescription walking boot while some of their best playmakers/talents like Cribbs, Fujita, Robaire, Womack, Pashos and others have missed considerable time. In 2008, that was cause to rollover and play dead after the coin toss. With BETTER character in 2010, it's been a CHANCE to win most of the games played in the 4th quarter. People are boldaced lying if they tell you they don't see an improved team out there today. I can explain this until I'm blue in the face; but the teams best able to survive a volume of injuries like this are the ones with 4-5 successive good drafts. 1 keeper from the 2008 draft and only 4 draft picks scheduled for 2009 with FA land mines like Shaun Smith, Antwaan Peek-a-booboo, Donte Stallworth, Corey Williams (this isn't a 4-3), Dave Zastudil, Derek Anderson and you get the picture. Those FAs cloud things because MANY of them were paid extremely well so the regime can plan to fill other holes.

BTW, it'll be interesting to see how long the honeymoon with the NY media lasts this time around when they just lost to the hated rival 45-3. Didn't Mangini beat that same NE team with a much more maligned offense and defense?
