Default Holmgren chasing fools gold (Barking Hard Blog)

In this blog post I take a look at Mangini's job status here in Cleveland.

Interesting Blog Spec, I do take a bit of issue with your headline though.

While there may be speculation among varied sources about Mangini's future. Holmgren has been very clear he is going to wait till all 16 games are played before making any decision. I don't believe Holmgren is chasing anything right now.

Good job Spec. Have you ever read articles on cracked.com? I can see the similarity here between the writing styles of the authors over there (dont take that as an insult its a compliment, they're awesome even though its comedy/science/news)

I agree on alot of what you have said thus far, but I think something many people miss, is that even though there are alot of positives to a Mangini coached team, there are some existing negatives

and depending on what those negatives are, they can potentially hold us back from a future title, think about flexibility, and charisma as two key examples

Mangini has flipped this team around and has steered us in the proper direction, true, and I honestly believed that..... but remember the old testament, and moses (im not a religious guy, but it illustrates my point) just because Moses freed the Jews, gave them the commandments, and kept them alive in the desert, doesnt mean he's the guy bringing them to the promised land.

Look at the Jets before and after Mangini, before they were crappy, Mangini came in brought dicipline, coached up some great players and built a great roster, but he wasnt getting it done in the W and L column, Rex takes it over and takes Mangini's team deep into the playoffs, and this year he makes a ton of additions and is a top of the league team.

While Ive not been the biggest proponent of Mangini I dont really want to make a change unless this season totally crashes but,I love the attitude with Peyton Hillis running the ball and regardless what happens. I hope we maintain that path despite whom the new coach may be if we go that route. Just to be fair...The QBs get some of the blame because theyre the ones wearing the play sheets on thier forearms calling the plays although I'll admit still not being a complete Daboll fan. My only big problem with Mangini has been wasting valuable TO's and clock management.
