Going to give the credit to improved play calling, probably feedback and influence from one of the "H"s (Heckert, Haskel or Holmgren) Having Hillis helps, but we saw what we did the last 4 games last year. I also think Delhome has helped immensely. Even though he hasn't played a lot, he was a bench mark for how the plays were supposed to be done (even though he may not of completed the passes). I think our offense will be further improved next year with further additions of talent from Heckert. The nicest part of our offense is we lead going into the 4th quarter in how many games??? it's a lot more than last year Still would not be surprised to see Daboll gone next year if Holmgren feels he can plug an OC in that he likes. |

I don't know who to replace him with, but Daboll sucks. The lack of offense in the 2nd half of most games is unwatchable. He needs to go.

Regardless of what happens on offense the rest of the season ,I honestly feel there will be someone of Holmgrens liking running the offense next season.

The only reason that the offense has shown any kind of improvement has been personnel upgrades on the field. DJH, Seneca and Colt > BQ and DA. Hillis is a clear cut improvement over Harrison and having Watson with Moore is a clear upgrade over the TE's we were starting last year. Daboll still shows his penchant for nonsensical 3rd down calls, inability to make adjustments at the half (except for the Miami game, the one game I can think of where he didn't try to keep forcing the issue with Hillis and let JDH throw some passes when the opposing D was shutting down the run) and aside from those trick plays he showed he hasn't really shown any kind of improvement as a coordinator and I will be surprised if we keep him around next season.

Richardson gives us a HB with abilities the Browns have not seen in decades! The message is clear, we want to score more than 13.6 PPG this year. WOOF WOOF WOOF! ![]() |

This is going to be very unpopular...but... The Browns have not had more than 4 games in a row with a HEALTHY starting QB. That means that there is a complete lack of continuity at the position, and that means there is a trickle down effect. Sure, our WR's are not exactly tearing it up...but notice the games both Robo and MoMass have had since a healthy JD has played (you know, the guy who had all the reps with them in camp). TIMING is the number 1 factor in pass completions...and with the merry-go-round at QB our WR's DO NOT HAVE IT with the QB. Moving on from there. Because teams realize (yes, they watch tapes) that our WR's lack the timing, they then can focus on the TE's and the RB's. Hillis and Watson are good enough that they will perform regardless, but they can and have been taken away by teams selling out to stop them (notice, this is usually the lesser teams). Taking all that into consideration...what adjustments do you plan on implementing at halftime. They legitimately have to protect Colt, avoid JD's INT's, and Wallace can't throw downfield for crap. It adds up to a limited playbook...and some quirky play calls in an effort to shake things up and break the routine. I am not saying Daboll is the next coming, but the lack of continuity at QB and the right side of the OL has a MAJOR effect on the ability to call certain plays...and therefore the ability to adjust. I for one am not sold either ON Daboll or AGAINST Daboll. I just don't think we have had a situation on offense that allows us to call a complete game.
