You don't need to be "good" from a talent stand point to have a killer instinct or to show one when the opportunity comes up. Killer instinct is mental, not physical.

The D was terrible today.. Buffalo...Yes Buffalo.. at one point ran NINE straight running plays at us and held the ball over 36 minutes to our 23.. that's bad defense.. Yeah..we were in the game..but it was still lousy defense. .Yes the offense was bad too.. but the D deserves a lot of the blame.

just an observation.
"killer instinct" is inherant in everyone. Usually brought on by the feelings of being threatened, abused or killed.

true you can't instill it...you can coach it.

for coaching to be valid and actually work you'd have to appeal to ( in this case their win/loss column)

what it comes down too is actually something Vince Lombardi said long time ago...... "winning...is a habit, unfortunately, so is losing"

so , how to coach it...get guys that play the game we watch outa the desire to WIN! no offense, but fuck money, fuck advertisement contracts!. Get a guy that wants to win! From there you have a base to coach from.
