Say what you want Mik, the Browns really liked this kid before he went down. I was at the last preseason game he went down and he looked really good to me. He also was very impressive at camp. I like him a lot, and to me it is just a matter if the kid can keep healthy, he's already behind the 8 ball with the knees. I'm not counting totally on him, but that doesn't preclude me from knowing the kid can ball.
Davis was a scat back and 6th rounder that people held out high hopes for, this kid is a serious package of talent. You can watch his You Tube vids from Tennessee and see it also, and when guys like Heckert and Mangie trade up for a guy like that, I 'm giving them the benefit of the doubt they know a thing or two. |
My point is he has done nothing and shown nothing at the NFL level. It's all well and good that he played well at TEN. but that's TEN. Counting on a RB with injury issues in college, during training camp, and then in his first NFL action is more than counting ones chickens before they hatch. No one knows if the kid can ball at the NFL level. What we have seen is a sum of one preseason game, that was preseason game 4, which is filled with 3rd stringers and guys fighting for a roster spot.
Even Heckert misses on guys (and we know EM does).
All I am saying is maybe before we start making the kid out to be some dynamic duo with Hillis, we may want to see him play in an NFL game first. Heck, how about a few practices and more than one preseason game that actually features more than guys fighting for roster spots and practice squad spots.
