Default Today, We're Unbeaten!!!

And just think if Holmgren decides to unretire after concluding he was burnt out just 2-3 years ago - he could have the longest unbeaten period here in quite some time if there's a strike. This is the PERFECT place for someone that experienced burn out and 4-12 football when the poor guy had to work around injuries to the QB position. Heaven help us!

If Marty Morningsickness is the new Head Coach, he was actually so bad in Detroit they held up "We miss Wayne Fontes" signs. Believe it or not, he's a good OC when there's a strong Head Coach commanding respect above him. And folks, John Fox isn't an upgrade when he wasn't winning with the same injury volumes Cleveland had. That's just knee-jerking; but the Cleveland media already landed his name in a thread yesterday.

Okay I vented.

Ron Rivera would bring a 4-3 defense and I'm LONGING for it considering Savage kept signing FA dlinement from 4-3 (1 gap) schemes. Because he was so bad at sizing up 3-4 LBers - isn't filling 3 psots easier than worrying about 4? Pay attention to what we just witnessed when Fujita and Jackson went to IR.

Offensively, I'm gonna go unpopular here and choose ex-former PLAYOFF QB Jim Harbaugh. If you want a guy that wins games he's not supposed to - he's beaten USC more than once and he's got Stanford at 11-1. Did Bill Walsh ever have Stanford at 11-1? Does anyone understand an NFL offense better than a former NFL QB? If his brother can be successful when his NFL Coaching Career began in the weight room - I think he's got better "gotta haves" here.

I WORRY about an older coach that needed to get away from the game. I don't think alot of our giddy fans are looking at the possibility of burnout returning here as early as injuries return and things start feeling like Sleepless in Seattle memories of 4-12. Cleveland has zapped the excitement amd enthusiasm out of every guy that took the challenge on of Head Coach so far. EVERY one of them thought they could make it work and be the difference except for maybe Chris Palmer. And the Cleveland media was here to pounce on every damn one of them before contract inks dried.

Sorry to be such a downer the last few days. I'm venting TONS of frsutrations I've continued to re-wtness for 20 years of scapegoating Head Coaches and pretendign the front office didn't set them up for failure. I've always tried to be an optimist of you look at what I've stood for here regarding the direction of this team. Holmgren is doing REALLY good work as a President with front office hirees and makign us draft McCoy. I've got a bad feeling about him returning to the sidelines; and I think Joe Gibbs is a great example of a coach that had burn out coming back and remembering why he had burnout very quickly.

Unbeaten just like the three years from '96-'98?! Nobody beat the Browns in those years!

All great point Tom and I see you used my "Morningsickness" reference, good, it needs to stick because we may all be throwing up on a regular basis if he is named HC.

To be fair, it was pretty clear towards the end of '08 that Holmgren regretted his decision to retire. He didn't want to leave Seattle, but he'd already promised Mora the HC job...and I bet he promised the wifey he'd spend the time off with her as well.

I believe that the browns need to get it right this time, while i agree with the fact we shuffle coaches to much i also believe that mangini is not the answer and think we need to roll the dice one more time and hope we get the right guy..

We should as fans never be willing to accept mediocre or less and mangini's whole system stinks of the kind of mediocrity that says the best talent in the league couldnt succeed under this coach simply because the best talent wouldnt stay in cleveland..

LOL! God bless ya! Believe it or not I've used it more than just once. I started calling him that about a month ago (the first time I saw him mentioned) not realizing you were doing it too. Us Fairport guys...

I gotta learn how to spell his name----or not. If he is hired, we can't be hating on the guy though like dbags did to Mangini from the get go.

Got to cut the Morningman some slack since he had to work for Matt Miller. Maybe the worst evaluator of talent I ever saw. The man was doomed before he started. That said, I don't like him.

But, Holmgren can't talk to Morningweg until Philly is out of the playoffs and he will interview Perry Fewell this week to comply with the Rooney Rule.

I would expect to see Sherman come in for a visit and interview after Texas A&M finishes this week.

I think Sherman is a very real possibility.

To sum it up, I love the enthusiasm in your topic's title.

"Here we go Brownies, here we go! WOOF WOOF!"

I do like this quote. I've smiled because of it, from the moment I heard it uttered... He's got this part right...
-"First, you learn how to compete. Then you learn how to win. Then you learn how to win consistently.'' - Eric Mangini-

He may have been, but, new year on the calendar, a new slate for the Browns, a good, positive outlook!
