Default HC interviews

I figured I'd start a thread for us to put prospects who are coming to town. Here's the first I've seen:

From Jason La Canfora:

In addition to interviewing with the Broncos, ATL OC Mike Mularkey will also interview with the Browns for their head coaching opening

Cleveland Browns to interview Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur on Thursday

Published: Tuesday, January 04, 2011, 2:55 PM Updated: Tuesday, January 04, 2011, 3:40 PM

By Mary Kay Cabot, The Plain Dealer

CLEVELAND -- The Browns will interview Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur on Thursday, the Plain Dealer has learned.

Associated Press
Pat Shurmur will interview for the Browns' head coaching position on Thursday.

Shurmur is the nephew of late NFL defensive coordinator Fritz Shurmur, who worked under Mike Holmgren.

Shurmur, who's in his second season as Rams coordinator, spent seven seasons as Eagles quarterbacks coach, where he had strong ties with general manager Tom Heckert, now GM of the Browns.

During Shurmur's tenure, Donovan McNabb made the Pro Bowl three times. This year, he's done a fabulous job with rookie quarterback Sam Bradford, who led the Rams to a 7-9 record.

The Browns are also set to interview Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell and Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey.

You forgot to mention a 5-27 record over two seasons, part of the Matt Millen era, Lions left overs. Ugh.

Addendum, and there it is:

Report: Browns plan to interview Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg
by NATE ULRICH on JANUARY 4, 2011 - 6:09 PM
in 2011 COACHING SEARCH,CLEVELAND BROWNS,MARTY MORNHINWEG,NFL

As expected, the Browns will reportedly seek permission to interview Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg for their head coaching vacancy, according to CSNPhilly.com.

Browns President Mike Holmgren fired coach Eric Mangini Monday morning after Mangini led the team to records of 5-11 in consecutive seasons. The Browns won't be able to interview Mornhinweg until after this weekend's wildcard playoff games, per NFL rules. The Eagles play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. If the Eagles win, the Browns will then have until the start of the divisional round to interview Mornhinweg.

In 1995, Mornhinweg, a 48-year-old native of Edmond, Okla., began his NFL coaching career as an offensive assistant for the Green Bay Packers under Holmgren. Mornhinweg spent two seasons as the head coach of the Detroit Lions (2001-02), whom he guided to a record of 5-27. He's now in his eighth season with the Eagles and his seventh season as their offensive coordinator/assistant head coach.

He has strong ties to Holmgren and Heckert, who spent nine seasons in the Eagles' front office. All three of them have the same agent, Bob LaMonte.

Now this is a name that intrigues me as an OC, but not sure I want a rookie HC who's only been an coordinator for 2 years.
