Default If We Draft Dez...

... and I think we will... which corner do we like best in round 2? The Senior Bowl opened up a very deep group, especially in the 20-64 areas of the draft. That's why Mayock says the Browns shouldn't draft Haden.

Some of the candidates:

- Earl Thomas (probably plays corner in the pros, goes top 15-20)
- Kyle Wilson (probably goes 20-32)
- Patrick Robinson (might be available... tore up the Senior Bowl week)
- Dominique Franks
- Kareem Jackson (like him a lot, he'll be a very good starter)
- Devin McCourty (ditto)
- Perrish Cox (also terrific at the Senior Bowl week)

Chances are very good none of these guys makes it out of round 2. I don't think any of them is an absurd reach at 38, because they're a matter of preference.

Draftnicks? Who would you pick?

For what it's worth, the Pats took Darius Butler of Connecticut 41st last year. He missed two games and still had 35 tackles and 3 INTs. He's good. I think he became a starter after the bye. Heck?

I'll start: Digging around, I think I like Kareem Jackson. He and Eric Wright start, McDonald in the slot. Bam. Team strength before you know it.

tough to say because so many can potentially be gone...last year only 2 went in the first but 10 in the 2nd round.. 2008 6 went in the first.. 6 in the 2nd. 2007 7 1st round picks.. So it's tough to tell who to target when so many guys could be gone by round 2.. You can hope or wish for guys.. but it's always hard to tell how many will be gone..

Shep, you are an odd bird.

Now you're talking corners you likely don't know or care about? Why? Who are you fooling?

Good golly, stick to offense. It's your bread and butter, man. You are Charlie Weis, minus 250 pounds.

Tell me about offensive players. This just sounds odd coming from you.

Butler had an up and down rookie year. Tough to tell how he'll progress. I didn't see anything that wowed me. He's also pretty slight.

Probably a topic that should be tabled until after the Combine - we won't have good draft projections on these guys until they run in Indy.

That said, I'd advise against pimping Brandon Ghee or Patrick Robinson (sorry, Solon). Both guys should time extremely well and have immense potential, but they're also ridiculously inconsistent on tape.

It's early, but I'm gonna nominate this for oddest post of the day. It's gonna be tough to beat for its ironic use of the word "odd" for a thread lacking any oddities... until now.

That aside, Juke: I'm a draftnick. I know the Browns need a corner. I think they'll take one in the second round. I wanna know the options, hear what the other kids think.

"Women love me, children love me, dogs love me... now get your ass in here and love me."

Personally, I love having a physical corner in Eric Wright, and I want another in Perrish Cox. I think he's one of the better CB's in this draft, better than Robinson, Ghee, and maybe Kyle Wilson. He's not the fastest corner, however, which is why he may slip.

I know they were loving Cox (har) and Robinson at the Senior Bowl.

I did a lot of reading on Kareem Jackson and he has a lot of fans out there. He's a serious cover guy with good size, speed, and swivel... and also a smart, class A kid.

Wait, Eric Wright is physical?
