Hyperbole and untruths? Have you really reduced yourself to posting like Shep? Really? You've just stated that I want Marty when 3 or 4 posts back I specfically stated I didn't want any coach here who failed in another city.

Maybe you should stop with the hyperbole and start with reading my posts. This is getting a little ridiculous don't ya think? Putting words in my mouth and twisting what I say. I am not shep so I don't think you should act like him either.

Actually, I wholeheartedly agree with this about Vegas AND Masters. If I didn't consider either one of them worthy of my attention - I would have missed out on some very fun/good disucssions. We're just shooting the shit.

In this discussion, I basically saw 2 different sides of a debate equally as passionate about their side. I think we should all be WAY more concerned if we could NOT debate topics or we asked people to change their personalities to present their info. While I'm arguing with Vegas - he adds "Angry Basterd" right after his screen name so personalities liek that are fun and very important to this place.

Furthermore, I thought the exchange between Riff and Vegas was hilarious! I guess my articulation of that sucked and it wouldn't be the first time I had trouble with that. What I wanted to say was their sparring about the decision of firing Mangini didn't change how much they respect each other. I said we are family here and I believe that for the most part.

It was important to note that Riffer is ALWAYS a rose colored glasses kind of fan so when he does air out his concerns - he has every reason to. It looks like this is a topic people will agree to disagree on. Moving on...

This should be a fun off-season.

That opening statement seemed to be defending Marty so excuse me for misinterpreting that! To take that out of context was my bad - sorry!

If I told you I have a coach that could go 10-6 if he had good enough players to work with - would you WANT this guy? THAT is what Mangini did when he inherited a MUCH BETTER deck in NY.

There's some guys I would be open to and I've named them in other threads. But again, to think Marty finding Detroit overwhelming would justify a 3 year commitment is somethign to be concerned about.

In saying the firing was necessary, it doesn't change alot of insider's opinions that Marty M is the apple of Holmgren's eye even though other guys will get interviews before hand. Okay, I won't say Vegas says he wants Marty M; but he should at least be cognizant that 50% of the firing decision involve the hire justifying a better man was found.

Vegas, you're putting just as many words into my mouth with the Hjamal Lewis stuff and other things and I'm not getting twisted nipples over it. Knowing what you think of Shep - wouldn't you say that's crossing over from topic to personal? And if you read ANYTHING I'm writing about your personality/chasracter - it's not being compared to people I dislike. Your better than that!

Unless 1st round draft picks just started to make less than 2nd round picks from 3-4 years ago - I gotta think Haden got the better contract.

Yet your defense of Mangini staring Lewis and others was because of contracts. Interesting. I mean you did say Mangini was straddled with contracts so that's who he had to start right?
