LeFevour Talks to Browns

QB prospect Dan LeFevour of Central Michigan said he met with the Browns. The 6-3, 238-pound quarterback has been rumored to be hot on the Bills’ radar… Another QB prospect, Tony Pike from Cincinnati was disappointed that his weight was just 212 at the combine. The 6-6 quarterback came in at 223 pounds at the combine…

(So does he weigh 212 or 223??j

With Miami and Roth is was contract $$'s and getting on the field due to injuries. We are lucky to have snagged this guy up. With Tampa and Bryant.. I think it's mostly the tool factor (he is one) and that he could not stay healthy last year either...don't want Bryant no way no how. Dez Bryant YES.. antonio..NO

BTW... if the Browns are just blowing smoke with all their quarterback obsession... and Holmgren saying "getting the quarterback position straight" is at the top of the list... well, they should stop wasting all their time on misdirects.

I'm pretty sure they're gonna do SOMETHING pretty substantial at quarterback. I'm thinking they'd like Bradford, they might like Clausen, and they'd like to find the guy they like next best (Pike? LeFevour?) who they could pick at 38 and not feel too bad about it.

At the QB position, I doubt they'd take a chance of waiting until round 3 and taking whoever they get.

Well Holmgren's track record says otherwise shep. He's pretty much exclusively drafted QB's in later rounds. In fact I can't recall one first round QB he's drafted.

I think they are doing due diligence by looking at the QB's coming out this year. It only makes sense. Quinn isn't the unquestioned starter, so they have to at least look at the other ones, but I say the odds of us giving up our surplus of draft picks to move up is nill. And I really think they'd have to trade up to get one of those guys.

212 at the Senior Bowl, 223 at the Combine.

Maybe " getting it straight" is just deciding to go with Quinn. He just needs to decide. I'm not saying that's it.. but you seem convinced..for the most part anyway..we are going another direction. Maybe "getting it straight" is as simple as getting DA out of town to end any QB controversies... Holmgren only says it's a priority.. does not mean he's NOT going to stay with Quinn.

I don't think anyone here will dispute QB is not a priority decision.. but that does not mean we are changing QB's. matter of fact..I'd be surprised if we did.. We may draft a qb.. matter of fact we likely will..but it will be 3rd round or later....and that guy will not likely play this year.. as INSPECTA rightly says.. Holmgen has never drafted a QB #1 and his track record shows that he likely will not go #1 with a QB.. especially with the poor quaility of guys coming out this year. He'll likely take a guy he likes as a project. Shep..I know you love QB's..but I'm not sure why you want to wish one of the qb's from this class on us.. I am scared to death of pretty much all of them.. I don't think we'd be any better than what we already have.. if that's true...you don't draft one.. certainly not with the #1 pick..when there are players "that appear' to be more sure things that fill needs. Berry, Hayden, Bryant..

Holmgren spent a first round pick on Favre... in trade. Big commitment to a beer-guzzling swamp rat who did nothing in Atlanta.

He and Ron Wolf value the QB position above all else. I think Holmgren would do anything to get the right guy. Practically no price too high.

I agree...as would any GM worth their salt.

The real questions are:

Does 3H think Bradford or Clausen is THE RIGHT GUY?
Does 3H think DA and Quinn ARE NOT THE RIGHT GUY?

BOTH of those have to be a resounding YES for them to draft a first round QB.

Hey! I already coined "H3."

If any of the buzz is at least based in some reality, the Browns seem to love Bradford and have less interest in Clausen. They may think there's less separation between Clausen and Pike or LeFevour. Don't know.
