Why is it a questionable move by the new HC. It was known that Seely only came because of Mangini. Like, Ryan, he had no intent on staying under a new staff. Mangini, Ryan and Seely were a team. One goes and the rest follow. Sorry man but you can't throw that on Shurmur. You don't keep coaches that don't want to be there. I loved the guy but he made it clear when he left NE to join Mangini that it was because of his relationship with both Mangini and Ryan that he came here. He burned a bridge with Belichick to come here. |

nope it lies directly on the shoulders of Holmgren when our Special teams, and Defense suffer next year.

Why would you stop a guy from moving on.. forcing him to stay is no way to build a staff. Seems to me from the article we wanted to keep him.

Shit bed. I was pretty sure he would be gone but it is another thing hitting home. Dawson is most likely gone (I still don't get that BTW), Cribbs is injury prone and getting older, going to the 4/3 will limit a lot of athleticism on ST's and who is to say Hodges will ever have another season like he just had. The one area we have been as good as anybody in the league may go to suckage because of all of this change, and Golf pegged it, that falls on the Walrus directly.

Pathetically, our special teams were really um, special. For a while in 2009 the special teams seemed to have a better chance to score a TD than the offense. To Y-town and Sez who say just roll with it - when someone like Joe Thomas (let's hope not but you know what I mean) walks away in FA I'll be there to remind you you just sign someone else and move on.

Major bummer to see Seely move on but I have a hunch perhaps a pay raise was in order and maybe $$$ lured Brad to San Fran. We'll get a new ST coach and move on, what else is there to do really?
__________________ BROWNS 2012: Its Weeden's job to lose, it was the second we took him #22 overall. We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results. Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them. I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year. It's going to be tough. We aren't Barking Hard for nothing. WOOF WOOF WOOF! ![]() |
