| Next job for Zorn 7:29AM ET Jim Zorn | Interested: Titans?, Browns?, Raiders? UPDATE: Even though his stint with the Washington Redskins ended badly, Jim Zorn's name has been mentioned as a possibility for the Tennessee Titans' head-coaching vacancy, in addition to the jobs listed below.--- ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported Thursday afternoon that the Baltimore Ravens have relieved Zorn of his duties. There was already a feeling that Zorn might explore other opportunities this offseason, and this accelerates the process. One possibility raised by Jerry McDonald of the Bay Area News Group is the Oakland Raiders. Zorn has worked with new offensive coordinator Al Saunders and QB Jason Campbell. If nothing else, they'd be able to offer up a good appraisal of whether he's a fit. Aside from Oakland, the Cleveland Browns could be a logical fit as well. Zorn served under Mike Holmgren while both were employed by the Seattle Seahawks, helping to develop Matt Hasselbeck into a Pro Bowler in Holmgren's offensive system. Might they value such a man to help tutor Colt McCoy? |

| Pollard to explore the market? 9:29AM ET Bernard Pollard | Texans | Interested: Eagles?, Jaguars?, Cowboys?, Browns? During an appearance on Sports Radio 610 in Houston, Houston Texans strong safety Bernard Pollard was asked for an update on whether he thought he'd get a new deal from the team this offseason. His response didn't appear too hopeful: "You don't want to know that," he said. Thus it would appear that Pollard is moving on to his third NFL team. And |

| Browns riding Colt in 2011? 10:01AM ET Colt McCoy | Browns The Super Bowl hasn't yet been contested, the draft remains over two months away and free agency might not be occurring for quite a while. But given that a blog covering the Cleveland Browns (and other Cleveland franchises) is entitled Waiting for Next Year, it's never too early to start thinking about what the Browns' offense is going to look like once the 2011 regular season begins. And no upcoming decision is as important as finding the right man to start at quarterback.During a recent interview by ESPN Chicago (per Steve Doerschuk of the Canton Repository), Browns president Mike Holmgren dropped a major hint that it's going to be Colt McCoy. "I hired Pat [Shumur, as head coach] because I think we have a good young quarterback," Holmgren said, "and I wanted an offensive-minded head coach. It pretty much boiled down to that. And, I wanted one familiar with the system I was familiar with." While the team hasn't ruled out adding additional QB options this offseason (including using the No. 6 pick to draft one), it would appear that the coaching moves are being sculpted around giving McCoy a shot to lead from the get-go next season. |

The Brown's stuff is great but if you find some new stuff about the CBA in there, please share. Whether we are going to have FA or be allowed any trades without a new CBA is interesting stuff. A new coaching staff can really be hampered if there isn't much of a preseason to get his new system in and working. |

Will keep my eye out for some of it. Latest on Browns' plans at No. 6 10:06AM ET Cleveland Browns The Cleveland Browns will have a new offense this season under nascent head coach Pat Shurmur, and there's been a buzz that they also plan to adopt the 4-3 defensive front, switching from a 3-4 that was relatively stable last season. And if they do switch, the needs of the offense might be outweighed by the need to find players to fit this new scheme on D. During a conference call with reporters on Wednesday, ESPN's Mel Kiper, Jr. touched on this subject, as chronicled by Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "If you feel you have to get that pass rusher, Robert Quinn could be a tremendous pass rusher in the NFL," Kiper said, per Grossi. "This kid was unbelievable two years ago. He's gonna be a freakish workout guy. You might feel this kid can be an unbelievable guy. He would've been a first, second or third pick had he played this year. You can make an argument for Quinn, no question." Kiper also made mention of wide receiver A.J. Green, noting that taking such a complete WR as early as No. 6 overall wouldn't be a mistake. "I look back at Larry Fitzgerald. Would you have been shy about taking him? Would you have been shy about taking Andre Johnson? I don't think so," he said. "There's been other examples of guys going pretty early that have done very very well. I don't shy away from it." ESPN AFC North blogger James Walker isn't sold on expending the high pick on Green: - Tim Kavanagh James WalkerQuinn a better pick in my book "Either player could fill a major need for the Browns, who have several holes. But I'm still leery of taking any receiver No. 6 overall." |
