Default Prospect Videos

Just thought I'd share a link to my prospect video archive, which has gotten a lot bigger in the last few weeks.

YouTube - AloAloysius's Channel

The clips can't replace actual film study, but they can provide a nice refresher for games you watched early in the fall or fill in the gaps if you caught a couple games but want to get a sense of how a prospect fared in other matchups.

DraftParty, DraftSteal, and mari0clp also have some good clips. And you may want to check out the games that are available on ESPN3 and SECDigitalNetwork.com.

I hope you guys find the clips useful. Please let me know if there's a prospect that you'd like to see more of.

Alton Smith. Damn. He's good. If he somehow got to 30, I'd consider trading up. Doesn't sound like he will, though.

With quarterbacks, you're better off just watching the games. You can check out three TCU games on ESPN3.com.

Yeah, your clips help out a lot for me. Sometimes I can't catch a game on ESPN3, and I'll check out a few of yours. Excellent work as usual.

Was nice talking draft with you today during the NFLDC radio show as well.

Likewise.

For anyone interested, here's an article I wrote today about watching college games online:

It would be, S, I agree (I'm a big Floyd fan)... but MF is staying in school. If he'd come out, I think he'd go top 20, though. He was rising quickly as the deadline approached in anticipation that he would declare.

If Bowers is there, I would take him. I don't see a scenario where we'd have to choose between Bowers and Green, though... one of them almost has to be gone. That'd be a very tough call... glad I'm not the one making it.

I would love to see the Browns pick up a serious WR in free agency, but there are two problems: We've sucked throwing the ball and they'd probably rather go to the Rams or Patriots; and there may not be any free agency.

I dont see any scenario outside of 2 qb's going before us that we can even sniff green or bowers or fairley

I don't mean to be downer.. but truly saying this in honor of the guys who really "make it" in the nfl.. here is the problem.. every nfl player.even the 3rd string bench warmers DOMINATED in college..so watching videos of these guys destroying opponents is college is fun to watch.. the real question is..does it translate to dominating against the best of the best in the NFL.. Certainly if your dominating in conferences like the SEC certainly gives you more hope for a guy.. but it does not mean that much.. It's such a crapshoot.. Go to draft history.com..
DraftHistory.com - NFL Pro Football College Draft

Pull up any draft year recent but especially going a few years back and start scanning the names.. you will find most of the names... you don't know... or the names you remember are no longer on a roster..very few of the guys who get drafted make it..even the first and 2nd rounders...but especially round 4 and lower..it's truly rare that a guy makes it. It's truly amazing when you look at these lists.. you begin to realize how special a guy has to be to really make it in the NFL.

Fairley, Bowers, Quinn, Peterson, Akamura (sp?), Gabbert, Von, Newton, Dareus, and Green... I've seen them all in the top five. That's 10 candidates.

One of the top draftnicks made the point that WRs tend to drop a little as the draft approaches.

Here's just one scenario where it works: http://www.nesn.com/2011/02/first-nf...2-overall.html

Here's just one scenario where it works: NFL Mock Draft I Sees Nick Fairley Going No. 1 Overall, Cameron Jordan Going to Patriots at No. 17 - NFL - NESN.com
That would play out pretty good; BUT it also means the first 5 teams go defense and many don't consider best player available.

If Buffalo selects Von Miller - what would that mean for Shawn Merriman? No biggy I guess considering Merriman is only Clark Kent now that the NFL tests him all the time. Miller is prolly a good move for Buffalo although their oline could use a huge facelift everywhere. Fitzgerald showed he can be a solid QB if Buffalo ever addresses their protections and some guys do a better job of holding onto the ball.
