just read this, hope its not a repost... Browns' coach Shurmur will also run offense - National - Modbee.com |

WAAAAAAAAAAAH! I love reading about how Sam Bradford is pissed about having to change to McDaniel's spread scheme from what Shurmur was running the season before. That's something to be hopeful about in that regard, no?

Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them. I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year. It's going to be tough. We aren't Barking Hard for nothing. WOOF WOOF WOOF! ![]() |

No whining here. Just reality. We'll see who's whining next november. It won't be me.

Well...son of a BITCH!!! This is NO FREAKING WAY to run a championship offense with a freaking ROOKIE HC/OC whatever the hell he is. I hadn't read Haskell is going to be an "advisor"...great...like Holmgren is going to be the coach. You all just don't freaking get it!!! (how's that Vegas, did I do a good job??? - I was trying to get a Rich vibe going there, but I don't think I was successful) |

I think its a shit decision. I won't change my mind on that until Shurmur proves otherwise. The guy's never been a head coach and he thinks he can do two jobs while breaking his ____________? And if there's an unofficial OC on the staff (Haskell, Holmgren, whomever) then make it official and name him OC. Yeah, its the off season and its colder than hell this winter. So.... I'm bitter. Doesn't change the fact that I'll be cheering my ass off come football time as I have every Autumn of my life. I just get tired going through re-build after re-build. As Holmgren himself said: he better have gotten this right.

QFT. I don't think there's a single soul in football who thinks this is a brilliant decision.... well, except for a select few in Berea, obviously. This new coaching regime has a lot to prove....

I'm not thrilled about the developments but I'm not ready to jump into a river about it either. It seems to lack the sense of a bigger picture. That's why you have guys like Flugs just throwing their faith in Heckert because unless we get better football players on this squad this whole damn vicious cycle is going to keep perpetuating itself. The coaching staff will need to assert itself and win over the players, much like Mangini did in 2010 and then maybe the Fans will change their minds as well. I don't see anything happening until that can be accomplished. The downside is it's all on Shumur, he doesn't have a Brian Daboll to deflect blame to.

| IT'S OFFICIAL.. BROWNS HEAD COACH NAMES THE OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR It's Shurmer..wooohooo!!!! .. Obviously Holmgren approves so .. "Hey Mikey..he likes it!!!" We got the right man for the job!.. Now there is no more deciding if we blame the coach or the OC if things don't go well.. or who to give the credit to when we put up points.. I like it given the talent we have on the offensive coaching staff. We essentially have a head coach running the defense too. (see signature.. some of you seem to be admitting defeat before we even begin)

Either this is a wonderful ad for a reality sabbatical camp or you're informing us nobody was whining in 2010? 2009? 2008? 2006? 2005? 2004? 2003? 2001? 2000? 1999? 1995? 1993? 1992? 1991? 1990? I could have sworn I read some F-Bombs flying all over the place as recently as 2010 with nothing but blaming the HC and OC campaigns. Do we really need to condascend toward a portion of our fanbase that's been snakebitten by all the previous blind trust they've learned the hard way from? Let's not pretend we've been getting spoiled here to the point we can tell other fans how they need to feel. If people need to vent today - how is it any different than reading fire the coach for 16 straight weeks from those that only became positive after Mangini got fired? And then this gets spin doctored into a presentation that people who were seeing a compeitive progress of being in every game despite age, injuries and countless bad drafts are the BAD fans we need to worry about. Come on now!
