Who do you guys think we will/should tender? Or rather who do you think we will keep around and who do you think we will let go. Here are the potentials for tenders, of course assuming there's a CBA in place rather then a lockout.

Let's all throw our predictions/preferences into a nice little thread to get some new discussion brewing.

(6) or more accrued Seasons;
Phil Dawson
Floyd Womack
Seneca Wallace
Matt Roth

(5) accrued Seasons;
Jayme Mitchell
Chris Gocong
Abram Elam
Lawrence Vickers
D'Qwell Jackson

(4) accrued Seasons;
Eric Wright
Chansi Stuckey
Sabby Piscitelli

Here's who I'd like us to keep around:
Phil Dawson
Matt Roth
Lawrence Vickers
Eric Wright
Chansi Stuckey

Maybes:
D'Qwell Jackson
Chris Gocong
Floyd Womack

Take it or leave it:
Seneca Wallace
Jayme Mitchell
Abram Elam
Sabby Piscitelli.

If there's anyone I missed let me know!

(6) or more accrued Seasons;
Phil Dawson - he is gone, but I wouldn't mind keeping him
Floyd Womack - likely gone, we are having a youth movement
Seneca Wallace - gone, he want's to be a starter and Colt is it
Matt Roth - I would be highly surprised if we don't keep him

(5) accrued Seasons;
Jayme Mitchell - He was brought in for this, keeper
Chris Gocong - one of the few with 4-3 experience, keeper
Abram Elam - depends, I think he stays but we might move Brown to S and he goes
Lawrence Vickers - I think he stays
D'Qwell Jackson - He is one of our only MLB options, I think he stays

(4) accrued Seasons;
Eric Wright - He stays, I noticed a major drop in production when he was injured
Chansi Stuckey - He stays, he is a good slot guy, and has speed
Sabby Piscitelli - no idea

**** Keep all the above.. I make it a point to keep every one of these guys we need them all desparately.. Phil is a no brainer.. Roth starts..the other 2 can start and are critical backups in key positions

(5) accrued Seasons;
Jayme Mitchell
Chris Gocong
Abram Elam
Lawrence Vickers
D'Qwell Jackson
*** all but mitchell and maybe gocong.. Vickers is a must. the others are borderline, Elam is good enough as we likely cannot upgrade his spot THIS year... Jackson if healthy could finally find his niche in a 4-3.

4) accrued Seasons;
Eric Wright
Chansi Stuckey
Sabby Piscitelli
*** none of the above... if any, I'm more inclined to keep Wright due to overall lack of depth in our secondary. It is is too scary to let him go since we are so thin.. He had a few bad plays..but he was also left out to dry a few times that were not completely his fault .Piscattelli WHO? Stuckey does nothing for me as there are 50 other guys just like him in the league., except most are actually better..Just because he seemed to be one of the better guys.. when being compared to incompetants.. it's easy to shine..

Heckert needs to get to work quick on some contracts before the CBA expires.

I keep reading that the Browns believe they have certain pieces to build around for the 4-3, and they always name Benard at DE, so I think they're planning on him playing 10 pounds bigger and getting after the passer. They also name Jackson, Gocong, and Fujita... and Mitchell, Shaefering, and Rubin. They think all those guys can find roles in a 4-3 front 7.

Finding "roles" is one thing but do we have the personnel to start and have a serviceable defense, that's the big question. I mean, I really can't say. Who knows, maybe we have some diamonds in the rough? Bernard playing off the DE, what about Roth too right?

Grossi said recently that Roth is probably gone and Benard might be targeted to start at RDE with a few more pounds on him. Coaches like him a lot. And based on their cost and fit, all those other guys are likely to stay on as well.

I think we'll find a handful of guys who can successfully transition and then augment that with a couple draft picks and a couple more free agents if there is such a thing.

Sounds like we're gonna start the year playing 2 hand touch until Haskell advises everyone it's tackle football.

We HAVE to keep Roth. Benard was having fainting spells and health issues the last month of the season as he fell off the planet. I'd hate like Hell for him to be the only plan other than the squid Minnesota sent here.

We ONLY have 7 draft picks to cover the following holes:
RT
RG
WR
WR
DE
DT
MLB
CB
Safety
Kicker
Nickel DB
Backup OT
Backup OG/C
Backup DT
Backup DE
Backup LBer
Backup Safety
Backup Corner

We cannot forget how infrequently ALL 11 starters on both sides of the ball have remained healthy for an entire season. Not only that; but how often does EVERY pick come ready to rock as rookies? Should we consider hiring David Copperfield?

Flugel: That should be DE X2. We have a lot of questions..who can make the transition to the 4-3.. we have a lot of guys we THINK can fit.. Some will be ok, some will excell, and some won't fit.. it's the nature of the beast.. But the guys who are true football players will be fine in any system. Let's hope we have a few. We may even have more holes that Flugel listed if guys don't transition well. It will be a super rough year if there is no free agency and we have to fill holes and depth with UDFA's and guys who have been cut.

The hard truth is that it's gonna be sink or swim for at least a few because we can only bring in so many new players. Assuming all those guys I named, I also expect to see a DE and a LB drafted pretty high, plus a couple free agents.

On offense, I expect a #1 WR and a developmental right-side blocker.

I think those six additions -- four front 7 guys, a young OL, and a #1 WR -- are the key additions, plain and simple.

I think that's the page must of us are on..I can only assume if it's that obvious to all of us.. The Browns have to be looking the same direction.. It's really a matter of.. will there be a free agency.. and who falls to us at #1 will dictate our direction from there.. We can argue over who we like at our #1 spot.. WR, DE or whatever floats our boats...but bottom line is.. We have to have a WR and we have to build the front 7 are THE major priorities and no one's going to really argue that.. I think the only possible real chance to divert us from picks like that is if they just absolutely love Prince Amukamara.. It's a long shot..but if they LOVE him.. it's possible... It would not be my choice.. I think we will be at WR, DL or an outside-outside chance for LB with our first pick.
