Agree. Doesn't sound like he's basing this on any information whatsoever other than we might be in the market for a QB. That move is also worth a mid-first round pick, the #14 to be exact. You think we're going to do that again after just having done it to draft Brady Quinn? I hope not. |

I think he was saying these were things he'd heard at the Combine. I could be wrong. But hey... he's a Hall of Famer! Nobody gets that kind of value anymore. Teams are desperate to trade out, partially for financial reasons. If you already have your franchise QB and you just paid a #1 overall... it makes sense. The Browns would offer their #7, one of their #3s, and maybe a #2 next year I bet. If it's true. This isn't the first we've heard of this, though. |

Holmgren seemed more upset he couldn't watch LeFevour but said he couldn't wait till his pro day and will definately have him in to Berea for a private workout. Word was Cleveland personnel guys were all over the mid round QBs at night in the interviews, having them break down film with defense recognition and reads. A scout from a team with a top pick (team not disclosed) was heard saying "why would anybody trade up for a QB not ready to play in a pro style offense"? He also was quoted as saying "the cost would be too high when there is exceptional talent that can be had in round 3 and developed in a few years". This was reported by a Pro Football Weekly analyst on one of their sites. |

| Seriously? We need positional threads now? Dude, read it or don't read it. But stop dropping in to express your corrosive disdain all the time. |

Y, that read on the quarterbacks who aren't Bradford or Clausen cuts WAY against popular opinion. The overview of every beat writer at the Combine was that it's a sorry-ass group. The later round guys like Kafka and Robinson probably rose up out of UDFA, but nobody's drafting them instead of Bradford, you know? There's raw talent in Snead and Brown, but same goes there. Maybe LeFevour is the last guy standing after Pike's weak showing... but there are plenty of questions about his arm and ability to throw a spiral, too. We'll see, I guess. Maybe Holmgren does get The Fever. He reminds me a little of Kolb, who was a total bust for two years in the minds of every Eagles' fan. Looked dreadful in preseason and couldn't throw a spiral. |
