The "Home Run Threat" comment is a truly laughable to take seriously.. ask any GM, president, or coach.. ..NOT ONE..will say.."no, we don't want a home run guy..we just want a middle of the road journeyman to fill a hole.." EVERYONE wants a home run guy..that's what the draft is about..especially the first day picks..

I am glad Mike came out and officially endorsed McCoy.. It's so nice to have that question answered early with a guy most of us will agree has tremendous upside.

As for BPA.. there are not many positions on our roster that would not apply to.. we have holes all over the place. Holmgren's explaination of what that means to him... is sufficient.

We've all discussed here and elsewhere that Holmgren is unusual in that he says what he actually means. He said he didn't like Clausen... and he was telling the truth.

When Holmgren says he wants a home run hitter, you can start by pretty much assuming he meant what he said. Then you start debating what he meant.

Frankly, I think because he was saying we needed DL but also a "home run hitter," he meant a fast offensive skill player who can go yard. And let's be even honest-er... he was almost certainly talking about a WR.

And frankly, that cat exited the bag over a year ago. Nobody doesn't think the Browns are in desperate need of playmakers at WR.

Hardesty doing well, knows the WCO from Kiffin's almost WCO... and Lombardi says McCoy better muscle up...

I am glad that the Walrus came out and said Colt's "The Guy" again. It bears repeating because there are just too many people who aren't satisfied with it. I love that he also came out and said he'll be drafting another QB, he ALWAYS drafts rookie QB's virtually every team I've seen him a part of, certainly when he was calling the shots in Seattle especially.

If Green is gone by the time our #6 pick comes up and we take someone on the offensive side of the ball, it will be someone that the brass believe in. They aren't going to reach for anyone just for the sake of beefing up our offensive depth. We will take someone to beef up the front 7 if they're the guy at the top of the draft board it's just like I said in another thread, they're going to have 'their guys' and as they get crossed off the list they will pick the next name down.

These guys know what they're doing and that's why I am excited for this years draft. The hopes that maybe we can have another good one like last season.

BROWNS 2012: Its Weeden's job to lose, it was the second we took him #22 overall.
We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.
We aren't Barking Hard for nothing.
WOOF WOOF WOOF!

I'll repeat on your repeat: Having a quarterback firmly in place and working with the WCO brain trust in Berea is a very, very, VERY good thing, especially with the possibility of a strike. Teams without a settled QB situation staring at both a lockout and a draft of spread offense guys? Yikes. Good luck with that.

Hardesty is young so there's a very good chance he'll be literally 100 percent by May. His knee injury never had the word "devastating" attached to it so with today's technology, it'll be a clean slate. Hell, it's been about four years since he hurt the other knee and he says it's stronger than ever. That has the making of a very nice set of running backs, something we lacked last season.

It'd be really refreshing to see a Browns offense that could outgun another team, because in today's league, it's gonna go down like that several times a year. You're gonna face a passing offense you can't possibly shut down and you'll just have to keep up.

I feel closer to that than we've been in a long, long time. We just need a couple wideouts.
