Well, I think Dez has taken a step back and he will have to more then kill it to get back into the top ten of the draft. That said, I don't think the Browns are looking for WR early as a top priority. I like the guys mentioned but really think the team needs go after a top TE in round 3. This is a great crop of TEs and some real quality could still be around in picks 71 or 92.

But, if not Dez, then who? I believe if both QBs go in the top 6 then Berry could drop to #7.

I'm a LeFavour fan but also think 71 is a little high for him.

Todd McShay thinks he's one of the biggest risers coming out of the Combine, but Kiper thinks he'll still go in that early/mid 2nd round range.

He's got the athleticism and explosiveness to play 3-4 OLB, but I'm not sure he's got the kind of nastiness you want to see in a pass rusher. Was disappointed when he backed out of the Senior Bowl.

Daniel Jeremiah: "Don't be shocked if this kid from Hillsdale (Veldheer) finds himself in the 2nd round as well."

7. Cleveland Browns: Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
I really can't envision a scenario where Eric Berry falls beyond this pick. Most consider Berry to be the top prospect in the 2010 NFL Draft behind Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy. However, Berry is a safety, a position of low value, which is why he could fall to No. 7 despite the fact that he's being billed as the next Ed Reed.

Cleveland's secondary is an abomination, and numerous upgrades must be made. Berry is exactly the type of leader that the Browns' defensive backfield needs.

Other 2010 NFL Draft Possibilities:

1. Quarterback - Like the Seahawks, the Browns are a candidate to trade up for a quarterback. Moving from No. 7 to No. 3 may be difficult, but Cleveland could definitely go up two spots if the Redskins pass on Sam Bradford. All that would cost the Browns is a third-round pick, and they conveniently have three of those.

2. Joe Haden, CB - Joe Haden is still a strong option for the Browns because he's a very talented corner who would fill a big need.

38. Cleveland Browns: Ricky Sapp, DE/OLB, Clemson
The Browns just traded Kamerion Wimbley for a third-round pick, which I thought was a good move. However, this means that rush linebacker is now a major need.

Pick change; previously Kareem Jackson, CB

71. Cleveland Browns: Jarrett Brown, QB, West Virginia
Jake Delhomme for $7 million? Seneca Wallace? These are Cleveland's options at quarterback? Mike Holmgren obviously plans on drafting someone in Rounds 2-3. Jarrett Brown is a project, but has tremendous upside and mobility that Holmgren likes out of his signal-callers.

Pick change; previous Dan LeFevour, QB

85. Cleveland Browns: Perrish Cox, CB/KR, Oklahoma State
Eric Wright is a solid corner, but the Browns have nothing across from him. They can't go another season rotating between Brandon McDonald and Mike Adams.

Pick change; previously Dorin Dickerson, TE (OAK)

92. Cleveland Browns: Jamar Chaney, ILB, Mississippi State
The Browns just signed Scott Fujita, but he can't be the long-term answer at inside linebacker. Mike Holmgren will probably spend a mid-round pick on this position.

102. Cleveland Browns: Carlton Mitchell, WR, South Florida
Cleveland needs offensive playmakers. Brady Quinn struggled last year with his deep accuracy, but it's hard to put all of the blame on him because his top targets were Evan Moore, Mohamed Massaquoi and Mike Furrey.

Pick change; previously Dan LeFevour, QB

As I wrote earlier, the only way the Browns are going to win on a consistent basis is if they find a franchise quarterback. Also, new regimes mean new quarterbacks, so Mike Holmgren will be looking for a guy he likes in this class.
I know he's not in the updated draft, but I reeeeeally like this pick. This guy just smells like a Mike Holmgren type of pick.

I asked before and got no response so I'll ask again - Has anyone really seen this guy play a few games? What makes such the "flavor of the week" or in other words whats the fervor over the fever?

I got a buddy that swears by The Fever.

I bet the marketing department would love to have this guy. They could never really get anything approved for DILDOFER, Victoria's Secret wanted nothing to do with guy.

I've never seen him play but I've read reports from scouts that say he has a bad habit of throwing off his back foot, if this true I don't think I want him...If 4 years of college didn't fix it I have trouble thinking Carl whathisface - QB coach, Daboll or Mangini are going to fix it with the Browns.

I've see Pryor at Ohio State throw enough off his back foot to know it absolutely drives me friggin crazy! This kills his accuracy on short to intermediate throws and ends up as a wounded duck whenever he goes deep. He is lucky the Buckeyes have a number of athletically gifted WR's that are able to knock down his ducks and sometimes even catch them...It's a shame really because he has a stong arm.

Man, watching some tape, and I'm sure Alo has a better source than me, he throws a lot of short stuff, but it's accurate. Seems very WCO. He reminds me of Steve Young the way he moves in the pocket, keeps his eyes down field, and is not afraid to run. Big kid to. 240 is Tebow sizing without that 10 minute throwing motion.

I just don't want to spend the picks to get Bradford and not sure about Claussen. I hope we get this kid.

Ideal draft for me (for today at least) would be Berry or Haden in round 1, Tate in round 2, and then a trade some picks if needed to get this kid late round 2 or 3.

Thanks Ocon for the links on Lefevour!

I can see where the Tebow comparisons come - he's a big guy who is not afraid to run over somebody if he needs to.

I didn't like how he threw off his back foot alot instead of stepping into the throw, proves he has arm strength to get the ball down field inspite of throwing off the back foot though. I saw his O-line didn't help him much as most of his throws were hurried (maybe contributing somewhat to throwing off the back foot) and I saw his WR's open by miles on a number of throws with a lot screens mixed in...Can't expect that kind of seperation at the next level.

Will have to work on foot work and who is capable of doing that on the Browns? Holmgren? He is probably the only one I think could do it on the staff but he has a few other more important things on his plate...Ultimately though I don't make the decisions for the Browns and who really knows what they are thinking?

Never know, but lots of dings on his mechanics, inconsistent release points, footwork, etc. He's a project. I think Kafka is way more polished.

As far as releases and polish, Clausen is three years ahead of all of them. Sipe worked with him in high school. He has a Bulger-esque release and is the most starter ready.
