Default Randall Cobb for your consideration

Just looking for some opinions on the guy. Looking at his tape reminds a little bit of Percy Harvin. He has ridiculous YAC ability and from what I can tell looks like a natural plucker of the ball. Could be a home run at the top of round two if we go dline with number one.

I like Cobb but I like Torrey Smith better. After that Little impressed at his pro day and I love Pettis later in the draft as a slot guy.

My only problem with taking a DE at #6 is taht I see guys just as good with less question marks. Guys like Sheard, Ballard, Austin or Bailey. Dareus has emerged as the shining star and Quinn is rising but for me, he is a carbon copy of Bernard but a level higher. If I have Bernard I don't want to put Quinn on the other side. If I have Bernard I want someone like Watt or Bowers (but his knee scares me) on the other side.

So, Cobb is fine but I hope we go Green or Jones. Then again, we all know that I love Peterson (had to put that in there for BW). Actually I would love to get Brandon Burton in the 3rd round as my corner to take over for Brown in a year and fight Wright for the nickle job this year.

Sorry I got off topic a bit.

It's easy to get "off topic" because every move necessitates another. I actually like Cobb better than Smith... I think Smith has terrific speed but I like Cobb's YAC and short-space quickness better. To me he's a better WCO fit.

But maybe I'm being fox-and-the-grapes because I think Smith goes late first.

I know we could use another corner but I can't really see it before five. We need front seven players so badly... might need two DL and a linebacker in the first four picks, along with that WR.

Hey, who's that corner we drafted in 2009 who's still on the team and perhaps moving to safety? Maybe he works out as hybrid nickel guy, like Adams.

You know sometimes I'm kidding a bit about Peterson but dude, we need a corner or FS very bad. DL can be had in FA not good young corners. Teams just don't give up good young corners. I'm not in love with too many corners this year but I do like Burton and I do think we can get good bang for the buck in the second round with defensive linemen. After round #3 you got to look at BPA. You can't be searching for needs in the mid to late rounds. You find your depth taking the BPA in the mid to late rounds. If we only draft two DL then you go to FA. You can't start forcing picks for needs when you are looking at the 120th player on your board. You take the best of whose there.

Man, what's the deal with you and CBs?...........Did a CB take your girlfriend in HS?

I feel ya, but you got to let it go.

BTW, back to the thread, I like Cobb but I don't think WR will be our pick in round #2.

To overstate the obvious, I don't think corners are really the money players. Like Tomlin said, and many teams practice, if you get after the passer, you just need solid corners.

It's just not a top half of round one position for me.

And nobody steals my womens.

This is where we differ. I think corners are the money players of the future and I think one punked you in the past because you don't give them the proper respect.

So, why do you like Cobb better then most draft experts? Who's the bigger diva him, Baldwin, Young or Little?

Actually, a lot of experts love Cobb and have him as high as three among WRs. Just did a ton of research and watched a lot of tape, and the takeaway is that he's special with the ball in his hands, catches very well, and has WCO written all over him.

AA says when comparing him, Jernigan, and Young, you get the sense that Cobb is the one with the size to become an every-down WR and maybe a #1.

Little has the biggest "diva" reputation... but it's all a little vague to me right now. I'd love to read something concrete on him. As far as WRs at 37, I probably like Cobb and then Little. Baldwin isn't quick and has a bad diva rep, too... seems like Mister Wrong for the WCO.

Titus Young wouldn't break my heart. He's exciting. I'd probably put him after Cobb and Little. Jernigan's fun but he's so damn short.

I watch film of Cobb and just see a guy built for the WCO. I can't help but get giddy thinking about pairing him with Cribbs. All of a sudden the Browns have two very dangerous YAC players. Shit, might actually be able to scare a defense or two.

I'd agree with you, hand... if Cribbs ever looked like a farging WR. But that would be the dream scenario, that Robiskie, Cribbs, Cobb, and Massoqoui could form at least a good WR corps.

Yeah, Cribbs is such an enigma. His talent is so obvious it just frustrates the hell out of me that the Browns can't find a way to just put the ball in his hands. I will admit I'm super biased tho, I love Cribbs, guy is the definition of football player. I even named my dog after him.

You guys got me going to look at Cobb a bit harder this week. Must say he was under my radar.

As for Cribbs, I get the impression when I watch him at WR that he is thinking about what he is suppose to do instead of just being natural.
