A, I'm basing it on some draftnick talk I heard and read, mostly McShay (I believe). Today, Grossi talked to a GM who said he thinks Julio Jones has very good hands but needs to correct the turn-and-run thing. Of course Saban says he has great hands.

I've read it and heard it enough to think it's at least a reasonable POV, that he has receiving gifts, "strong hands" for catching in traffic, and a knack for the crazy catch. But I've also heard the stuff you clipped here, enough to think it's valid as well.

The sum is that I think he's a top 10 talent and a great fit for the WCO. But we both know... you just don't know. There are no guarantees.

BTW, just watched Kiper and McShay taking turns on the top 5 picks. Kiper took Julio fourth for the Bengals, Peterson fifth to the Cards. That's all I saw. I think I heard McShay flipping him shit for Julio at 4, but I was just passing through. I did see the list, though, and heard Kiper defending it.

I'll take my own tape study over Grossi's.

So would I. I mean you, not me. But Grossi was quoting a GM.

I'd imagine his tape study would be watching guys like Mayock, Kiper or McShay and seeing what they had to say.

I think his insider source could be Mary Kay.

It's vaguely suspicious that his GM quote is almost the same one Mayock gave, also quoting GMs he's spoken to. That Jones has good hands but has a couple bad habits to clean up... and that's definitely do-able.

Conversely, I just think Edwards has bad hands.

You got to love the guy who has 9 mocks and changes it every time he reads someone else. He talks about these players habits (good and bad) and has probably not left Cleveland since the season ended. I know he wasn't at the senior bowl or the combine so his info isn't from first hand experience because the paper and STO have both cut back on travel due to some financial troubles.
