One thing I like to clarify with people is that Julio wasn't really dropping the ball as a junior. When he was an inexperienced freshman and then Bama had an inexperienced starting QB the next year, Julio had more concentration lapses. A second year with McElroy at QB and the chemistry matured considerably. It's important for people to understand Julio was just a junior in 2010 so they realize the biggest complaints they had are when he was a freshman/sophmore.

That's true, Tom. McShay was saying Jones has really good hands and "receiving skills." His occasional drops are usually facing the QB and looking to make a spin move. He's not Braylon-esque.

And I just do NOT buy that they're similar personalities. At all. Before his first game in Cleveland, Braylon was talking about an acting career, remember?

That can be something that he learns to correct. Donald Driver had the same problem. If you face the QB and drop the ball than you're catching it with your chest, waiting to turn up field. I saw more down the field drops from Jones, but still he tried to catch with his body.

He is the anti-Braylon -- for now. We'll see what the Browns come up with. On the outside looking in, he looks like someone we can "add to the pile," as Holmgren likes to say. Can he be a #1? Maybe.

I do know Green is also a maybe, but more of a complete WR, according to all the scribes. If Green is gone, I would have to trust Heckert and his staff to believe in Jones. He sort of reminds me of TJ Ward in that he is just a monster player with instincts to play the game.

I am really reading as fast as I can, and the more I read in limited time, I like Julio Jones. He is growing on me for the WCO.

Watch. Heckert - with no trade down - will take Watt or Jordan @ 6.

Jerry Rice even had the dropsies as a rookie.. It can be overcome by many.. But I also agree.. Julio had a couple glaring drops which put this label on him.. but he was not dropping a lot of balls from what little I know of him.
