Great insights. We've kind of exhausted our efforts explaining the importance of having enough GOOD corners on hand to cover multiple receiver sets in a passing league today. Interestingly enough, those that think PP may be on our doorstep at #6 have him at #1 right now to shed some light on why you draft the next Rod Woodson if you think he's there regardless of what we drafted first last year. It's not last year anybody is worried about - its the 10 consecutive drafts before that we're concerned about.

I'd take Julio; but I don't think Heckert would agree with me about who offers the less injury risk, better STs value and more position flexibility to fall back on.

You did a great job with that mock all the way to the QB prospect in round 7. You also seemed to understand where to take a risk on somebody that had some injuries to overcome.

I agree: You want some depth in your defensive backfield and safeties who can cover.

I do NOT agree that drafting your second best corner in the top 10 at the exclusion of WR and pass rusher will make this team better. It won't. It's horrible value.

But it's a very different discussion when you bring up the emerging trend of moving college corners to safety, or drafting corners even when you have starters. I like both of those things. Even with Haden, Brown, Wright, and Francies, I think the Browns should draft competition in 4 or 5 and sign a young free agent.

But again: The average draft position on the second corner of the top 10 pass defenses is round four. That's how the good teams do it.

It makes so little sense, I get a little nauseous every time it comes up. "Pass the ball... and rush the passer."
