When you look at Watson, Moore, Robiskie, and Mo, you do see why Holmgren said "home run hitter."

Titus Young? He'd work, too.
I'm worried about how Titus Young will translate to the next level. He's not exactly built like the powerfully compacted Steve Smith and I saw him Dennis Northcutt a pass in traffic at the Senior Bowl absolutely terrified of contact. Therefore, he lacks Steve Smith's courage as well. I think the other Boise State WR Aus-tone Pettis offrs up better translation.

Does the WCO emphasize slot receiver at the expense of a Tom Rathman? I say such a thing because as Riffer-All-My-X's-Live-in-Texas recently pointed out, we may be eyeing up our version of Rathman and Craig as Hillis and Hardesty/Cribbs out of the backfield. If we ARE gonna feature a slot - I imagine it being Cribbs lining up where a traditional wingback lines up close enough for misdirection handoffs or pass routes closest to QB. I'd PREFER us to draft a WR we can line up outside that won't be rendered useless to press coverage applications. I confess to stealing the first half of that thought (needs to be able to line up outside) from Heckert.

I guess I'd look at the Eagles, Packers, and last year's Rams for reference on the fullback. I know WCOs have evolved quite a bit since Rathman's day, adding in way more three-WR sets. The Packers live in those sets for the most part. In Philly, I know Avant's on the field a lot so I suspect the same.

I'm a'scared on Young some, too, Tom. His reference point is Desean Jackson -- they kinda look the same -- but the truth is that Jackson is faster. Young does track the ball well and has a knack for the home run that Cobb lacks, but Cobb is incredible with the ball in his hands, and that's more WCO.

I'm with Grossi: Take the WR first. He's completely come around to that. He says he was never on the Peterson bandwagon and the DL are all scary, so go Green or go Julio. My favorite scenario is getting Julio... at 11.

If we don't take a WR in one. I would just assume pass on the rest. It is a weak WR class IMO and I realy don't like any of the rest. Little seems to have the size and speed...but he's ranked 10th for good reason. I don't really think he's the answer. I'll leave that choice to Heckert if he likes him. He's the draft sleeper.

So as I said. I would like a WR in round 1.. but if not: my option would be to just go heavy in the free agent market for WR. If we skip Wr in the draft we then definately get that RT. Then look to next years draft for a WR. There will be some sort of free agency at some point and we can "at least" a bandaid on it.. and maybe do something great in free agency..depending on how it all plays out. The free agency draft class as it stood at the end of the year is way above average. 10x better than last year.

However, I am optimistic we will go WR in round 1.

I know he is only a sophomore, but I would hope Blackmon comes out next year from Oklahoma State. I think he has the potential to be better than Green or Jones.

Yeah, Blackmon and Floyd are the guys next year, but Floyd's an F-ing mess. It doesn't look very strong to me at all.

I'm all confused all the way around. If we didn't get Green or Jones, I do like Cobb. I'm sort of into Hankerson after watching the SI overview on receivers (they have Cobb 3 and 5 BTW, pretty high). It might work if we went with Quinn in one.

Shep: I agree the draft this year is confusing. with the wr group this year.. I'm not real impressed after the first 2 guys who I do really like.. Cobb I don't like at all. Hankerson is just OK but I would be fine with passing on the whole mess. Little is the only one who interests me in round 3-4. A lot of the little guys are getting DeSean Jackon as comparisons.. Most guys Jackson's size end up sucking or end up as a #4, 5 guy or just a kick returner. Jackson is just a freak of nature.. Seriously.. there are only 2 other smaller guys like that who start.. Steve Smith and Santana Moss... but after them..most small guys just don't make it. Not at #1 or #2 guys anyway and that's what I think we need.

We have a team full of #3 recievers we don't need another one. How the top of this draft plays out is going to be interesting. I just hope we get a great player in round 1.. and a bunch more after that.

Cleveland Browns QB Colt McCoy will organize workouts in Austin, Texas, this week for his fellow offensive teammates, according to The Plain Dealer. McCoy grew up in Texas and starred at the University of Texas in Austin from 2006-2009.

The newspaper's source said that Cleveland wideouts Josh Cribbs, Mohamed Massaquoi, Brian Robiski, Carlton Mitchell and Jordan Norwood were among those headed to Texas, along with running back Peyton Hillis.

"I think it's great," general manager Tom Heckert told the newspaper. "If they do it, great. If they don't do it, I don't think it's a big deal. They'll be ready when it's time to go."

Massaquoi wrote on his Twitter account Wednesday night that he was "Finally packed and ready for Autin, Tx." Cribbs wrote Thursday morning that he was on his way.

Players and coaches have not been permitted to have any contact since the owners imposed a lockout on March 12. According to The Plain Dealer, McCoy was given a copy of new coach Pat Shurmur's playbook before the lockout began.
