a place to collect all #Browns draft rumor on day 1 of the #NFL draft: Jay Glazer: ATL trying to move into top 7 for Green, JJones or Peterson, talking w Cards, Browns and 49ers w Browns the most likely spot. DiMitroff aggressively looking for play maker And then there's the rumor of a Patriots - Browns deal __________________________________________________ _____________________ CBS Rapid Reports - The three draft-day rumors most unlikely to happen: 1. The Browns could select OT Tyron Smith at No. 6 overall. What many forget is that the current regime signed OT Tony Pashos last year. A healthy Pashos will play -- plus the Browns have more pressing needs 2. The Browns are considering CB Prince Amukamara with their first pick. If it's not Patrick Peterson, they aren't grabbing a DB at No. 6 overall. 3. The Browns will trade their No. 6 overall pick to the Patriots for their two first-round selections. Team president Mike Holmgren has already said he doesn't want to any further than No. 12 in trading down. __________________________________________________ _____________________ Mike Holmgren: Browns' pick at No. 6 is for sale - The Huddle: Football News from the NFL - USATODAY.com Cleveland Browns team president Mike Holmgren is putting his first-round pick on the block. Holmgren told the Cleveland Plain-Dealer he's willing to move out of the sixth overall pick in Thursday's NFL draft. "We are talking to people about trading. I am not going into any more detail than that," Holmgren said. Last year, in his first draft running the Browns, Holmgren tried to move up and select QB Sam Bradford at No. 1. He ruled out moving up this year, however. But moving down is an option. "But the deal has to be right," Holmgren said. "It has to make absolute sense to us, otherwise we take the player. I know we need other things, but we just take the player." Several teams could be interested in moving up to select a player such as Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert or Georgia WR A.J. Green. Houston, in need of a cornerback for its porous pass defense, also could consider a jump up from 11 to select a CB such as Patrick Peterson.

Per espn.com The Patriots are always busy wheeling and dealing during the draft, and with three picks in the Top 33, they've got the ammunition to move up considerably if they so desire. Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe passes along word from a league source that the Pats have talked to the Browns about the No. 6 pick, with Quinn as the likely target. |

Two things.... 1. NFLN is saying the Atlanta thing is all but done based on who is on the board when the Browns come on the clock...like some have said, I don't see the ammo to make the move unless it is their 1st and 2nd this year, and next years 1st (or something like that). 2. I think the rumors about the NE Pats are legit for a couple of reasons. Kraft, the owner, is one of the most influential and "tuned in" owners regarding the CBA talks, and that means he may be privy to the workings of the new rookie salary cap that is under consideration. With that said, he is likely for the first time in a long time to be willing to MOVE UP to get a player...knowing that the financial commitment won't break the bank or handcuff the team. Second, Brady will be 34 at the beginning of this season, and he is signed only through 2014. That being said, it is WIN NOW for the next few years for the Pats...and that means load the guns NOW. I think with all the picks the Pats have, they can afford to move up and still have enough to fill multiple holes. My guess, the Pats and Browns do business. The Browns get 17 and 28 and the Pats get a WR or a DE they need.

Rumor I heard is that Shep will begin crying at 5:42 PM Pacific time when we draft Peterson. Begin Drinking heavily at 5:46 PM and projectile vomiting at 6:23PM.
