All those sound good. I'd like another WR, maybe a fast one, maybe a slot. Maybe Lance Moore or the speed guy from St. Louis, Laurent Robinson? Hell, I don't even know who's free.

I've seen some talk about Donte Whitner, too.

BTW, Robinson ran a 4.38 and jumped 39" at the Combine and was drafted by Atlanta in the 3rd round, higher than expected. How did he get to St. Louis? Is he a free agent?

EDIT: Robinson is expected to be cut. He isn't a favorite with the media in St. Louis, that's for sure. Called him injury prone and unproductive. He was promising his rookie year in Atlanta and then came on late last year. I'm a tad confused.

Avery and Clayton return there to go with Pettis and Salas. Gilyard, too... but the media think he's gone as well.

I (unfortunately) don't see us bringing in more clutter at WR. We have a lot of bodies under contract, including a potential speed guy in Mitchell and three guys who will never be more than a slot (Stuckey, Norwood, and Cribbs). Little will likely start out in the slot as that position is more about finding soft spots than running precise routes, and Little is big on guts and little on technique right now, no? Even if he "starts," I would expect him to move inside when we go to three wide sets.

Why bring in another body to jockey with Stuckey and Cribbs for scraps? Wouldn't that cash be better spent on a swing OT or a scat back?

Good points, Bronx, but I think the chances of Stuckey being on the roster are zero and I'm not convinced Cribbs will ever be more than a specialty package player.

In my mind, today, I think our WRs are Little, Robiskie, and Massoquoi, with Mitchell, Hagerty, and Norwood competing to make the team, perhaps for one spot. Hell, I'm not even 100% sure Massoquoi is safe.

Shep-

I have the same doubts about Robiskie and Massoquoi, but I just don't see the point in bringing in a slot when we are going to have Little, Watson, and Moore (plus our FB on play action or when lining up as an H-back) all competing for the ball within the hashes. As for "true" slots, Stuckey is adequate and Norwood actually has potential. I just don't see an easy upgrade here, let alone one that will be worth the coin necessary to bring it to fruition.

Notice how I left Cribbs out there?

I did notice (!).

I don't know enough about Norwood except that his size feels slot-ey. Hagerty was beloved here and in Berea before he got hurt.
