Nick Speegle used to hunt bear with a hunting knife. Mary Kay told me that.

That list freaks me out... because about 80% of them, at one time or another, I thought they were the greatest players in the history of football.

What happened to James Davis? I thought he was gonna be all that for a minute?

I still have and wear my Kevin Johnson jersey. I still think he was a great player.

Chaun Thompson was a SECOND ROUND PICK are you freaking kidding me?! I thought we drafted him in 3 or 4th round tops. WOW. Spergeon Wynn... seen him play some CFL Games. He did didly squat for us. Man some of those older drafts 1999-2004 really make me shake my head. No strategy, no rhyme or reason really when you think about it. It's really no wonder why we've been stuck in this rut, so to speak. We finally have someone running this team who understands how to BUILD a team.

Thanks for the reality check, Solon.

BROWNS 2012: Its Weeden's job to lose, it was the second we took him #22 overall.
We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.
We aren't Barking Hard for nothing.
WOOF WOOF WOOF!

KJ was good for two years. Then he became an expert at turning five yard catches into five yard gains. That kid could get to the ground faster than anybody I'd ever seen.

Default "Temper the fervor" - There's a rallying cry for the masses

Solon, you are the very definition of "wet blanket" this week.

I'm not sure what point you are making by revisiting Browns 2.0 drafts since we have all been over their shittiness a million times.

But if "temper the fervor" is your new fan slogan, you can count me out. That's absolutely the worst kind of thing ever posted in quasi-seriousness on a FAN message board.

"Temper the fervor" for what purpose, exactly? To join you in your pseudo-guru draftnik funk? So you can feel good about...what exactly? I'm not even sure what you're on about other than a third round pick you REALLY REALLY REALLY want back.

Listen, this is a fan message board. It's for fans -- and fun. It's for expressing passion about an entirely meaningless and ultimately worthless, thankless and purposeless activity: following a for-profit entity that employs uncommonly large men who do dangerously stupid things.

Hey, whatta ya know? Between the two of us, we came up with the PERFECT tagline to destroy the NFL forever:

The National Football League: "Temper your fervor! We take your money to employ uncommonly large men doing dangerously stupid things!"

I believe the new term for your post is: DERP.

Solon is right.. Sure we are excited after the draft and it's a bit of a damper..Just because we have been the worst drafting team in the past does not mean it cannot change.. Hope springs eternal at draft time. After all I am an optimist.. I could not be Browns fan after all these years if I wasn't. I know this draft is not launching us to the superbowl...but it may be the cornerstone of good things to come.
