Further about WRs not getting open last year, I think the MoMass clips above illustrate how easy WRs can have it in college spread offenses and why they so often take a good bit of time to adjust to the NFL. They just run in straight lines across the field and miraculously find themselves open by 5-10 yards. No cuts necessary. No back shoulder throws. No ball in the air and five yards away before they even turn their head. I think both MoMass and Robiskie were definitely having growing pains last season and weren't able to beat coverage.

These guys go from a situation where maybe 1 or 2 guys on their entire college schedule can cover them on the level of a nickel back in the pros and thus being used to racing unmolested all over the field to having a guy who isn't a Smurf chuck him hard off the line of scrimmage and stay step for step for the first 15-20 yards of the route.

Hopefully, our young WRs are learning and improving, but their struggles last season was not solely on the QBing.
