Mine would be DE and LB with OT being the backup. We have a few options at DE but we have already slotted Sheard into one postion and that's a rookie having to step up. It isn't a guarantee. Bernard is a big question mark and Mitchell has proven much and is unsigned. Even if they all work out there is zero depth. Same with LB. We are counting on a guy who hasn't played in two years and a guy changing positions to both step up and be all they can be. No depth behind Fujita a SOLB and MLB is very questionable. We have warm bodies that are unproven there also. I think a backup at tackle is very important. Pashos hasn't played 16 games in a few years, Womack isn't signed and heaven forbid if Joe Thomas ever goes down because Steinbach is the replacement. Not that he isn't a good LG but he will get eaten up outside. Pinkston is a project and all our other guys are inside guys. I hated to leave FS off that list because we may be looking at Adams starting at FS while Ward moves to his natural position of SS. Elam isn't signed and I hope they don't resign him. He is a SS and not a very good one at that. His coverage skills leave most wanting and he really isn't a "in the box" type guy either. |

Ytown. I'm surprised a CB is not on your list. But I can't completely disagree with your picks. I see those needs as well. That's why I limited the spots to force us to narrow down the most important spots.

I do think our defensive backfield is still lacking and I don't see immediate help from the guys we drafted. Coye Francies was being tried at FS/CB hybrid. There are a couple other young guys with some promise. What I don't want to see is some over-the-hill veteran brought in in FA while these kids are sitting and watching. They need to play. We might suffer a bit but I want to see the team get younger and not dependent on older veteran FAs. It's time to develop our own. That said, DE and LB might still be more vulnerable then the defensive backfield. Also, depth at tackle could really bite us and prevent the growth of McCoy and the offense. McCoy's development may well hinge on the OL being stout in front of him. Football at the NFL level is all about injuries. They are part of the game which makes having dependable depth at all positions a big part of a teams final roster. Hell's fire, I could see this team crash and burn if Joe Thomas went down. Then it really doesn't matter who is playing WR. |

I don't even want to think about that (Thomas injured). I think Robaire is a must sign because he can be in the rotation at tackle and at end.

Defensive end and either free safety or corner for the starters (corner Brown moves to free safety) and for the backup, I'm going to have to go experienced wide receiver that can split a little rotation time and help all the young kids.

BTW, there are rumors that Carroll, who saved Mike Williams, will throw a line to Matt Leinart. LA Daily News says they've spoken about it. Leinart in a WCO would be ideal. I'd like to see the kid get a shot in a starting lineup again. He really hasn't had one since he got benched by Warner. |

Career backup and not all because of his ability as a QB. There comes a point when it stops being a maturity issue and you realize it's a character issue he isn't going to grow out of. |

He's definitely not a guy with poor work habits anymore. He was for his early years but now he's pretty damn freaky intense, both physically and mentally. He might be a tool, though. He wasn't real nice at a camp my son attended. He was a fat kid who got good looking and talented... and that an be dangerous. |
