I think I might have fallen over dead from surprise had the local media ever written a glowing article like this about Mangini before he stepped on the field.
Looking forward to seeing Shurmur continue the progress this year, and to excel. |
Every NFL and almost all college teams have check down capabilities, but I am talking more about letting Colt completely change the play at the line as the game dictates. I am talking calling play action into the teeth of a rush blitz rather than following through with the handoff etc.
I would like to see the option of changing from the scripted plays and letting him manage the game as the game dictates. We are setting this team up with mismatches for the offense. Guys like Moore and Cameron are perfect for situations like that, as well as Hardesty and Hillis out of the backfield on backers in space.
I want Colt to have the ability to completely change the designed or called play as he sees fit, depending on how the defense lines up. That is different than a simple check down, blitz check or line shift.
