They've been in the post season for about 1 month and how many of these games are televised? I'm actually finding college lacrosse on television more than I'm runnign across NHL playoffs for whatever that's worth.
San Jose/Vancouver in the West and Tampa Bay/Boston in the East. Vancouver and Tampa are both up 1-0. Most, if not all games of the playoffs have been televised on VS. or NBC nationally and of course the games are on in the teams markets. Not really sure what that adds to the Lockout discussion but I just wanted the truth to be known

There's still pro hockey? I had no idea.

The players know they're losing the appeal on (or after) June 3rd. The 24-page brief all but guaranteed that. They know the lockout will stand, which changes everything whether they want to admit it or not. Smith and the players can talk tough all they want... they lost their leverage.

I just read that the outlined proposal from the owners was roughly the same as before, which makes sense because the players never responded. Now, rumors say, they will... so maybe we can get somewhere.

Florio's gonna end up right: It'll land where it could've landed two months ago.

Blech. They ended talks until after the hearing June 3rd. The players really seem set on gaining some kind of legal advantage that doesn't look likely.

I'm optimistic every time something flares up, but it seems more and more likely that this will be long, ugly, and damaging.

Especially damaging to a rebuilding team with new coaches wanting to install new schemes on both sides of the ball.

There's a reason they backloaded the schedules with all the conference games.

Nice. Was going to answer Fluges if you didn't. Only a recent Hockey convert due to the addition of Comcast Sports Net being added to my channel lineup back in 04-05 (whenever hockey came back from their season off). Also nice to finally have a "local" team to root for (Caps).

Always been a lacrosse guy though. There can't ever be enough of that on the tv

I thought it was very pertinent that OconRecon brought up NHL life after missing the entire 04 season to a strike while the NFL is in a lockout today. Also worth noting, if you don't LIVE in Ohio as a HUGE Browns' fan - it's VERY likely you have Direct TV which doesn't carry some of those Comcast Cable stations. I don't have VS and I think the Preds were only on NBC once when they played Vancouver. NBC hasn't televised any other hockey matchups here.

I appreciated Shep's response because it seemed like a more accurate reflection of our group overall. I'm sure there's exceptions to the rule like yourself that love hockey and are researching what stations to find a puck nightly. Seems like it should be a little easier than that.
