Thanks for sharing the videos and trying to generate a discussion from this. The FIRST thing you will notice is this TEACHING took place in a mini-camp where there wasn't 1 player in pads. There's gonna be a MAJOR difference in installation time due to the lockout crap. Anyone that does NOT understand how long it takes for a QB in a new offense with alot of new players will be all over McCoy on the first throw. People that DO get it will realize the lockout impacts the teams with new staffs and schemes MOST of all.
If we would have had the GM hired before the Head Coach in 2009, we MIIGHT have already had the WCO offense installed as early as 2009. Because that is NOT the case, I hope our fanbase is alot more patient with this Head Coach than they have been with others. The lockout really handcuffs teams in our situation and TN is talking about the depths of that daily on sports radio. New coach, new system, new QB - no time to install. Result? They got stick Barnabus Collins back out in sunlight as the dead body starting at QB because of the experience factor.
If we gotta resort to the TN plan, at least Seneca Wallace has experience in the WCO while we're making Colt McCoy a rookie all over again. That said, the guy who wasn't supposed to see the field in 2010 pleasantly surprised everybody (especially Mike Holmgren) when he was READY when called upon.
Otto Graham changed from being a college RB to the QB of this offense just like John Hadl once did for Sid Gilman. There is a Sid Gillman component to this offense as well according to Walsh when I watched NFL channel segment about it a hile ago. Point is, alot of ELUSIVE QBs like the 2 I just mentioned as well as fleet footed guys like Montana, Garcia, Steve Young, Cunningham, Moon, Gannon, Favre, Vick, McNabb and others have flourished in this offense. A guy like Cunningham or Vick who were mostly known for arm strength and the deep ball when they weren't scrambling, enjoyed the highest passer ratings of their career. Seems like a very user/operator friendly offense once it has been properly installed.
