Some interesting stuff in there. Particularly the statement that owners were intending to lock out the players ever since Upshaw passed away confirmed by the owners' hiring of Bob Batterman (who oversaw the locking out of NHL players).

Owners are being greedy if you ask me. 60-40 for 4 years in favor of the owners, then a move back to 50-50 seems more than fair.

I don't put much into anything being said by either side away from the bargaining table. Everytime someone opens their mouth I see it as a ploy to swing public opinion.

Both sides will continue to tell you the other side is at fault and unreasonable. It is a game and the only side that will be hurt in the end will be the fans.

When someone like Irsay says that him and Jeff Saturday could get it done over a beer on a cocktail napkin then you know it's all about greed on both sides. When you have Attorneys running the show they certainly don't want ti to end early and hurt their bottom line. Because, it is about money and everyone is looking to take all they can.

They have basically said "fuck you" to the fans who generate the money they are fighting over.

Honestly, Brees is going scorched earth now. Both sides are doing shitty things because it's a nasty-ass negotiation. Brees is basically saying, "Hey, bitch, I'm rich. Fuck you."

Not a super productive negotiating tactic. Jerry Jones tried it from the other side. Maybe those two go to islands for a while, drop out of sight?
