I was kinda teasing, but thanks, Thomas. Today Steve D. has a nice article (forgot to copy) about Holmgren believing a QB needs 32 starts before you can pass judgment on him. I have a sense that we'll have a decent idea what we have in McCoy by the end of 2011, after 24 starts.

I don't think you have to judge him harshly and you do need to accept the "bumps" Holmgren spoke of. But you can certainly get a sense of whether the problems are systemic or part of a growth process.

For me, it's the most interesting part of the 2011 season. I love watching young quarterbacks "get it."

I agree, Shep [that just doesn't feel right]

After Holmgren didn't get to "pop a quarterback" in this year's draft, he'll most likely get one in 2012. If McCoy flunks, he'll go for Luck/Landry Jones/Barkley; if there's still some uncertainty, he'll pick up a mid-rounder like Kellen Moore (Holmgren: "He's a f*ckin' winner"); if Freckles is the guy, a late rounder like Solon's boytoy Case Keenum will end up in Cleveland.
