Haven't read the thread, but I'm guessing it was interesting!

THE most important stat in football is cup size.

I was pointing more to how the Niners may bring in a vet QB to unseat Smith, not that he's trying to assert a leadership role.

Oh. Most of the articles have been about the latter, including in the past week. He's getting a lot of love... still has to prove it on the field, though.

And this today:

And of course there was the Harbaugh romance. I think he's about 99% locked to be the starter, but he'll have a short-ish leash. I honestly believe he'll thrive in the WCO.

Oh shit, watch out everybody, I'm about to jump into my first football discussion since like....February..

The most important stat in football isn't a stat at all. It's about the performance.....of your hogs up front. It really all starts there. If you don't have a line that dominates the trenches, it makes everything exponentially difficult for your QB and skill position players. (Ghoolie is rolling over in his proverbial internet grave right now).

It all starts in the trenches people. Win the war up front and 9 times out of 10 you win the game....

Teams with the best QBs win, Spec. We'll agree to disagree.

You can find statistically good OLs, for instance (YPC and sacks allowed) on mediocre to bad teams because they don't have That Guy at QB yet.

There's a reason they say it's a quarterback league. It really is. Manning, Roethlisberger, Brady, Brees, and now Rodgers are the champions. I happen to think the Steelers are the anomaly there because their trademark will always be defense, but they didn't win shit between Bradshaw and Ben. The other teams? They're all about those four guys. Everything revolves around them.

Shep I don't argue that. You can't have Johnny the grocery bagger under center and hope to win. However if you have a great QB behind a shit line not much is going to get accomplished, other than watching your 50 million dollar QB get his brains bashed in every sunday...
