Default Camp Question and Haggerty

When/if ever will the Browns release a list of who they are inviting to camp?

Also, everyone was really high on WR John Haggerty last season. Does anyone think he'll be back, I've read he was a F/A also but don't see it on many lists, and can he make the team?

The NFL was to release an official list of FAs at 6:00 tonight and teams were to put out a list of players under contract and players invited to camp at 10:00 tomorrow morning.

Haggerty is listed on their official roster but I don't know if he's inder copntract. They also aren't allowed to release/cut players until Thursday, I think, so there are some players listed that won't be invited to camp.

Free agency and signings will be so fast and furious we may not figure out who has come and gone until the 3rd game has been played hahaha

I loved what I read/heard/saw of Haggerty last pre-season and heading into training camp before he got injured but to be honest I don't know what his potential really was because we didn't get to see him in a game situation really. Hell my confidence is so low on our WR corps that I bet he could compete for a starting job. I'm not just saying that just to say that. He just has to run sound routes and have confident hands to get a job on this team... Hell, one out of two would probably make us consider him.

We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.

Holmgren just identified WR as a primary f/a target. I think it's a given that the new vet, Greg Little, Massoquoi, and Cribbs will be on the squad. Almost certainly Robiskie and Mitchell, too. That would be it, so it'll be tough for Haggerty.

Don't take what Holmgren said out of context. He identified WR as well as other positions and didn't say "hey we got to go out and get a WR to help this team".

Heckert said yesterday to Grossi that he felt very good about the receiver position with Little and Cameron being added to a position that was "underutilized and had untapped potential". Heckert's words from Grossi.

Big time diva........no. But a Mark Clayton type of veteran to have until they get Little and Mitchell some experience.......................maybe.

As you said before, they are looking very hard at a starting young veteran DE in FA. Grossi said they alos want to upgrade LB and get a starting FS from FA. Then again, Grossi likes to embellish the truth a bit so take it for what it's worth.

It's just interesting that Holmgren identified WR, CB, and DE. It has seemed a little crazy for the past couple months to insinuate we wouldn't be in the market for a WR. It's sort of a "duh."

But agreed: I have no idea what level. And I also have no idea who ends up where, but they do seem to use the terms "inside and outside WR" more than we've heard it in the past.

We've gone back and forth over this the last few months sometimes just to have debate on something, but I agree that the message does seem a little confusing since these guys have had only each other to bounce things off of the last few months.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall. What's sad is that we will never know who they actually have targeted if they don't get them. Sometimes there seems to be a chnage in thining but in reality it might be an agent that says, "hey, my guy would like to talk to you about playing for the Browns". So it goes from, "we like our group" to "if we get a chance to improve any position we will".

Teams and front offices don't like the public who buy tickets to think they can't get the guys they like to sign with them. so, they always say, "yea, he was our #1 target an we went all out and landed him". Meanwhile the other 3 guys they were hot after signed with other teams.

It is the WCO - those coaches always want to add more WR's to the pile. He needs to be adding LB and DE. And to illustrate how tough it is to find a good FS, not one UDFA was signed, so look for that to be a priority.

But yeah, Holmgren is going to always want to add WR's. LOL.

Dockery might play FS over corner in the NFL. He's listed as a CB/FS.
