03/24/11 - Maryland Pro day: One standout that didn’t get a combine invite was inside linebacker Alex Wujciak (6-2 1/2, 247). He had 40 times of 4.77 and 4.81, a 29-inch vertical, 8-10 broad, 4.53 and 4.56 times in the short shuttle, 7.32 three-cone drill, and 21 strength lifts. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

12/29/10 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: LB Alex Wujciak is averaging 9.3 tackles per game, good for fourth in the ACC and earning him first-team All-ACC honors. It marked the third year in a row he made an All-ACC squad. The senior have his fitness tested by an ECU offense that likes to run plays as quickly as they can get to the line. - The Sports Xchange

12/02/10 - 2010 ALL-ACC FIRST TEAM: LB Alex Wujciak, Maryland (78), has been selected All-ACC First Team for the 2010 college football season as selected by the 61 members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. Wujciak, the fourth-leading tackler in the ACC (9.3 per game) and third among active FBS players in career tackles (10.2 pg), was voted All-ACC for the third time in his career (first team in 2009; second team in 2008). He is the first Terp to earn all-conference three years in a row since D'Qwell Jackson (2003-05). - Maryland football

11/08/10 - The Terrapins were less than a minute away from a signature win Saturday, but Stephen Morris hit Leonard Hackerson for a 35-yard touchdown with 37 seconds left to give Miami a 26-20 victory. It was one of those games where the Terrapins played well enough to win, but also made enough mistakes to lose. The latter wound up carrying the day, and there are plenty of plays the Terps would like to have back. Four plays stand out. Jamarr Robinson got a rare snap at quarterback in the second quarter when the Terrapins had a first-and-goal at the Miami 2-yard line and immediately fumbled. He recovered at the 10, but the Terrapins had to settle for a field goal. Later in the game, after Maryland got the ball at the Miami 17 in the third quarter following an Alex Wujciak interception, Danny O'Brien immediately gave it back with an interception in the end zone. The critical turnover with the Terrapins trailing 18-17 cost the team a chance to take the lead, and those missed points would be a big factor late. Two other plays occurred on Miami's final drive. Joe Vellano was called for a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty that moved the ball to midfield. Later, facing a third-and-11 at the Miami 49, the Terrapins allowed Morris to run 16 yards for a first down. The winning touchdown pass came on the next play. One decision for which coach Ralph Friedgen had no regrets was his play-calling late in the fourth quarter. Maryland got the ball at its own 10-yard line with 5:22 to play, and ran three times. The Davin Meggett runs gained a total of only 8 yards, and the Terrapins had to give the ball back. "They were out of timeouts and I felt like if I could get it under three minutes, we'd probably win the football game," Friedgen said. "The other thing I didn't want to do is turn it over down there, and with them having no timeouts if we throw an incompletion, I'm helping them. In a perfect would I would have loved two first downs, took a knee and went home." - The Sports Xchange

11/08/10 - If you were to pick a member of this season's defense to set the school record for interception return yards, Alex Wujciak would probably not be the first name on the list. But after his 86 yards in interception returns on Saturday, he's in second place in school history with 238 yards, not far behind Tom Brown's program-record 275. - The Sports Xchange
| --> [Alex Wujciak Newsfeed]... | So far, this might be my favorite rookie FA addition. This is a guy DaBrownies projected as a potential late round steal earlier this year either when he was interviewed on the radio and/or his online column.
