Default Ben Watson had his best season last year

I don't know if this has been mentioned (Sorry if it was) I was skimming through the Browns website and just noticed that almost all of Watson's statistics were up except TD's. I always thought this was a great signing from the get-go

He benefit from a shitty WR corps but he did have a good season regardless.

Well I guess it makes it all that much better. Even with a shitty WR corps, he still went out and took care of business. (edit) That's the kind of solid veteran leadership we need to have on this team.

He had a good year. If we do a better job of getting the ball to outside WRs instead of just running them downfield, he'll get a lot fewer looks.

We get the ball to our WR's you'll see his receptions go down but his production will still be important. More TD's and more critical plays, IMO. The WCO loves to sneak the TE in on some series. I think he is good for another year - maybe two.

What an excellent signing he was. I think with the type of WCO we will run that Watson will see his production in between the twenties reduced, but increased inside the redzone. He is a gigantic target with sure hands that will make a ton of plays for us near the goal line.

The Browns have quietly built a set of huge targets. Hard to believe, but Cribbs is actually the shortest guy in the bunch. Moore is 6-6, Cameron 6-5, Watson 6-3, Little 6-3, Robiskie 6-3, Mitchell 6-3, Massaquoi 6-2 and Cribbs is 6-1. Moore, Cameron, Watson, Little and Cribbs are all big for their positions as well.

That is going to put a ton of pressure on opposing teams in the redzone, love the prospects of that lineup.

Absolutely, and the backs are big as hell too. Hillis, Hardesty and Marecic are some packages of brontosaurus.

I remember some of that, but I also remember some being worried about his injury history. I think a guy like Alex Smith is important, he is the one true backup TE we actually have. I don't count Moore or Cameron, they are hybrids to me.

I liked the Watson signing. Still like him. He's only 30 and he's healthy. See no reason he shouldn't be a part of the program for at least a few more years. He made some really nice catche last year.

We're really strong at TE.

AGREED.. We need a TE who can line up and block when we need a tough yard..Moore and Cameron are not that guy.. Do we keep 4 TE's???
