even if we signed every guy you just listed, we are a 7-9 team at best and we took on HUGE amounts of salary. Not good for a team that's has made it known that they are building through the draft. Maybe in about 3 years or so, when we get some more building blocks in the foundation, then maybe we get the final pieces to make us contenders. But not now.

Detroit Lions went from 0-16 to respectable to now being the "Breakout team" of the year. That was not done just through drafting. They made all the rights moves in BOTH the draft and F/A.

I understand that people want to just focus on the draft, but I disagree it's the only way to build a good ballclub and think it will take longer to do so, especially if the picks made do not pan out. We'll just have to leave it at that for now, people don't like being disagreed with.

I think the Lions are a good template, overall to compare this team to than the other teams we throw around (Eagles, Packers, etc) as the Bears have turned it around as you said through the Draft and FA with a careful balance. They've had some good drafts. The Browns were hampered by Mangini's draft and we really have been building this team for a season. This is year two... Like last year, we're going to need some rookies to step up and start and the off-season is still young. I think we're all anxious for the team to make SOME kind of move.

We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.
We aren't Barking Hard for nothing.
WOOF WOOF WOOF!

Breakout team of the year? They went 6-10 last year, and 2-14 the year before that. I guess anything is better than 0-16. When their record says 10-6 , I will say they are the breakout team of the year. Yes thay are loaded with talent, but they still gotta win games.

Who doesn't want to be a #1 WR? I'm sure it could be sold and packaged correctly and we could get someone to come here.

HOWEVER, I am beginning to hop on the Greg Little train, so I don't think we need a #1 WR until we see what he's got. But a slot, a Jericho Cotchery type guy if available as someone else noticed. Yes, we could definitely use a proven WR that can catch and run routes. Again, selling playing time and opportunity - harder than it looks I guess.
Yea, it's probably very hard. So go get that guys anme and call Heckert and let him know there's a #1 that wants to come to Cleveland with a young unknown QB working in a new system under a first year HC. Hell, guy are probably lining up and Heckert is turning them away because he just wants to piss off the fans.

But get that name and send it to him. I'm sure he would get off those hands he is sitting i=on and take a look.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda...............you crack my ass up.

and most of that talent came from the draft. there core players are guys they drafted. They suplemented their roster with some FAs like we are trying to do.

Your right on NEO.

Bunkley has not been traded to Denver since he no-showed here and that voided the trade.. Now he has been sent to Denver.

Brodrick Bunkley gets traded again

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 1, 2011, 5:15 PM EDT
Getty ImagesBrowns G.M. Tom Heckert was asked Monday where defensive tackle Brodick Bunkley was, since he wasn’t in Brown camp. We now know where he’s headed: Denver.
Two days after Bunkley was officially traded to the Browns, he was traded again. By the Eagles. Again.
The Eagles will get an undisclosed 2013 draft pick from Denver. They were set to get a 2012 fifth-round pick from Cleveland.
It’s odd because the original move was official, moving over the league’s transaction wire. Apparently it was canceled after Bunkley’s no show, and now the Eagles just dumped Bunkley for anything they could.

Boo hoo hoo..nobody wants to play with us.. . we are still sucking air at DT depth too
