Ravenna! Metro League!

First Kent State, now Toledo. Can Oberlin be far behind???

Wonder if Steinbach is hurt more than they've let on?

Here is a little tidbit:

These past few weeks, Adam Goldberg (+0.1) and John Greco (+3.1) have been splitting time at right guard. Although Goldberg had his best game in weeks, this was the first time that Greco got to see more time than Goldberg — and he showed that he should be the starter. Greco had a great game in run blocking and allowed no pressure at all. He is graded as our No. 4 overall guard despite just 153 snaps — he needs to get more playing time.

Jim Thomas (@jthom1) of STLToday.com reported it before IncarceratedBob, who appears to be less than legit...

According to Van Ram of Turf Show Times, Greco hasn't played much, mostly due to concerns about his pass pro ability. Maybe he'll compete for a starting job -- Steinbach having some sort of knee issue could open up another guard spot -- but it doesn't seem like he's at all guaranteed to win a gig.

Oooh, ESPN's Matt Williamson with a vastly different and very positive take:

Greco to Browns-Love it. Vastly underrated OG. Local guy too. Will start-no question in my mind

That's one way Heckert looks brilliant: Greco, Young, and Jayme Mitchell not only start, they all play really well.

What did we trade? More draft picks? Thought we were building through draft, not acquiring Ex-Heckert and Shurmur guys?

I like it, we needed a RG incase Lauvao didn't pan out.

More good stuff. I know BW will hate it and its not a flashy signing, but this is what it takes. Quality football players. We are building. Not RE-building. When we are working on the roof, like the Eagles, you do whatever it takes to find the last few shingles. But right now we need we aren't close. So dont mortgage the future ( like the Indians! ).

Browns acquired OG John Greco from the Rams in exchange for an undisclosed future draft pick.
The 65th overall pick in 2008, Greco had support among the Rams' scouting staff but his inability to consistently pass protect was his undoing. St. Louis valued keeping Sam Bradford upright over all else. Greco is familiar with new head coach Pat Shurmur, and the Browns may be gearing up to release overrated LG Eric Steinbach. Either way, Greco should make the 53-man roster. Jul 30, 10:59 PM

You don't even know what we traded on this. And the other trade, we traded a 5th round pick. Really? Are u that upset over a 5th? It's low risk, high reward. Very common for good GM's.
