Safety is meh. Always has been, maybe always wont be. They are more important now a days but still just meh. There is only a couple of safetys that change the game. Reed, Polamalu and Bob Sanders when healthy. Maybe a couple more but thats it.

| Don't discount Earl Thomas. Some analysts have him rated above Berry. As far as taking a safety at #7 teams really love a guy like Berry or Thomas that can play safety provide solid run support and also stay on the field during nickle situations. Both Berry and Thomas can stay n the field and cover the slot receiver which has been our killer for a few years, at least.

Berry sprained his toe during position drills at today's pro day. According to Jim Trotter, the drills were run by Romeo Crennel, which isn't a good sign for those of us hoping KC will pass on Berry.

| It's time to really be honest with ourselves: Berry isn't dropping to us.

| Myock has him rated above Berry as the #1 safety on his board. but, most have Berry as #1. I saw a couple of mocks with us taking him after Haden ran at the combine. They are bringing him into Cleveland for a private workout. I don't know if they are high on him or not. Maybe it's just a smoke screen but, he is an option that many don't think would be a reach. |
