Good pickup for the Browns. Lewis didn't even last a day. Should of been our #2 QB behind Sam since he clearly way outplayed Feeley for the last TWO YEARS in preseason, but what can you do? Don't think he ever is going to be stater material, but thought he had all the intangibles to be a solid #2 QB in this league. Oh well. Just got to hope Sam stays upright for all 16 games. If not, were screwed with Feeley.

Many say Lewis outplayed Feeley this preseason and should have been the Rams #2 guy. Avery cleared waivers is is free to talk to anybody. That's good news and bad news since he was only scheduled to make somewhere around NFL minimum.

I'd think Shurmur would have a good handle on his value or lack of. Must be something else there we don't see as outsiders.

Agreed. I figured Avery would get snatched up because he didn't look dinged in the last two preseason games.

I don't know a lot about Avery's situation in general. The only word that I read was that he wanted a new contract and wasn't happy with his role. The Rams said the release was mutual in the best interests of both. Can't see why nobody claimed him off of waivers.

Yeah, it's weird. If there'd been more talk about him not being "right" physically, I'd get it... but he played well enough in the last two games that Rams columnists were raving about how he'd bring a speed element to the offense that was lacking last year.

Thad Lewis preseason totals this year: 23/32 for 266.... zero td's zero picks..not sure how much is dink and dunk..but that looks like 1 solid game work of work.. Zero picks is nice to see and seems efficient.. may be some potential there. At least we have 3 QB's now.. Undrafted free agent from Duke.. So he's smart..
