Nothing in McCoys history says he's the type to complain like that.

I gotta say if Holmgrens such a lowlife he would plant stories out there trashing the former head coach then he needs to waddle his fat useless ass out of Berea quicker than I thought. And McCoy still needs to go with him FOR complaining which unless the interviews were made up? He WAS bitching about being punished for mistakes and crying all "boohoooHOOOOOO my coach didn't call me and did what his boss forced apon him" about the situation. In fact I can't even remember it BEING worded to open that up, the questions IIRC were general questions like "hows this staff different than the last?" Easy to diplomatically answer with a million different answers that don't require menstruating all over the interview for 15 paragraphs.

As to his history do some digging, the clues are all there and were there that daddy coddled him in high school and Mack treated him like a God, not that Mack had a choice, he played for Texas afterall and they treat hometown QB's like infallible icons in that state.

To prop up Shurmur I do believe Holmgren would do that.

Maybe the most disappointing thing about McCoy is, he has the tools. Neither Frye or Quinn did. McCoy has a underrated arm that can fire some good bullets down the field when he is mentally with it, but the kid as king mentioned, may not have the "alpha-male" attitude QB's must have.

You can't be scared to take a hit or criticism. You must be focused and concentrated on one thing: winning the super bowl. Colt gets in the pocket and looks scared of taking a hit. When he is outside the pocket his confidence zooms. I really hope he can overcome it, but this is a trait that not many QB's have, which is why there aren't many "franchise QB's".

Should I flatly call you out for being a liar, or just point out your are hideously twisting the truth for your own benefit again?

And on all your other ridiculous retread points re: Mangini, you can go back and read the last 5 Mangini discussions and how your points were thrashed to a million pieces.

We fielded a better team today than Mangini fielded last year? The team that had the NFLs most brutal schedule yet still played with heart and scratched and clawed their way to be within striking distance in all games but one? The same team that with the NFLs most brutal schedule would have EASILY been 8-8 sans devastating injuries? The same team that out played some of the NFLs most elite teams?

Get a grip.

Our "team" looked deplorable today against a shitty opponent. In year 3 of a rebuild.

End of story.

Hey if you really want to play games, I can make up excuses for Shumur too. 4 weeks to prepare, devastating injuries to the OL, young QB, young WR's. I could go on and on. But excuses are for losers. Coulda been 8-8? I coulda been POTUS if I would have studied politics more.

Read the quotes from Joe T. He stated exactly what I said - the direction of the franchise and specifically the HC was the reason he signed now. Doesn't fit into you neat little story about how the players loved Mangini, or that the team was headed in the right direction. The team was a failure. Plain and simple.

Headed in the right direction my ass. 22 losses in 2 seasons. There is no hiding from that record.

I'm totally biased because I liked Mangini and his teaching players accountability and responsibility. The point of laps wasn't disrespect or whatever whiny players thought; it was a simple and consistent reminder to FOCUS. Therefore, it's really hard for me to imagine that a Mangini-coached team allows that bone-headed TD, even with a short off-season.

It's early and all that garbage but the reality is that we lost to a Cincy team starting a rookie and finishing with a journeyman QB, at home.

If the Browns were hoping to get us to forget they forced this franchise reboot for no particular reason (as opposed to just, say, hiring Shurmur to be an assistant head coach/OC while keeping Mangini, Seely and Ryan) today wasn't the way to do it.

P.S. I think shep was drunk in the OP so everyone just enjoy his silliness for a minute.

Liar. He never said that, period.

I do recall numerous positive quotes about Mangini while he was coaching however. See how that works?

You called for 10 wins this season, so stop making excuses already. You predicting 10 wins means you expected VAST improvement against a laughable strength of schedule moving into a different system in year 3 of a rebuild.

What we have seen thus far is horrible regression.

We'll see how it plays out.

I can't give you any more rep at this time so I'll just quote this.

I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.

Oh he didn't? You think I just made that shit up to make a point? Look dude I don't have time to come to this board and do the fake internet shit. Unlike you I speak the truth:

Quote:
Given Thomas’ modest approach to media relations, this made sense. Yet, what followed somehow became a narrative all its own.
Regarding his contract extension and two of the Browns’ current heads of state, Thomas offered the following, as quoted by The Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Once Coach Shurmur got in here, I was willing to talk about the extension. Being on a winning team is extremely important to me.”
“What I’ve seen the last couple of years is exciting to see where the franchise is heading. That is why I wanted to continue on my journey here. The types of players that Tom Heckert has brought in and the more the team improves, I wanted to sign the extension and stay here.”
Thomas’ professionalism shines through as he offers words both innocuous and appreciative – as any media savvy modern athlete would do after signing such a flush deal.
Yet a short time later, the following interpretation emerged.
"I think Coach [Pat] Shurmur's an awesome person, a great coach, a hands-on coach," Thomas told the Plain Dealer. "That's something I haven't had because we've had defensive coaches here."

Who is making excuses? You're the one making excuses for Mangini. It is one fucking game, there isn't time to make excuses. My expectations don't change after one stupid game. You just drank too much last night, that's all - nothing else explains your ineptitude and attitude.

Interesting you didn't bold this quote. in fact the only part you didn't quote.

“What I’ve seen the last couple of years is exciting to see where the franchise is heading. That is why I wanted to continue on my journey here. "

Gee who was here the last couple of years?

So yeah. he liked shumur, but for you to make that out he didn't like Mangini is a stretch close to a lie.
