Yeah lets trade one of the FEW offensive playmakers we have with any kind of explosive skill. That's a great idea. Sorry Hammer, but I don't agree with that one. I've been saying since the off-season that we need to incorporate Cribbs more in our offense as a WR and he had some great plays on sunday, including that TD catch that support my feelings.

I can kinda understand hammer's point - what if we could get a 1st and a 2nd and some other stuff out of Cribbs? Is that even possible? Cribbs is fantabulous and I think him being gone would sort of take a piece of our hearts, BUT...what if that was the difference between 5-11 and 14-2 and a ticket to the SB? Kinda like the Shaun Rogers thing (although his situation was a bit different)... HELL NO I don't want to trade him, but I can see a scenario where he might prove more valuable to the team as trade bait. ***disclaimer - I had my wisdom teeth pulled today so I think I'm dumber now. And the drugs probably aren't helping much either. LOLOL |

When Cribbs was just a special teamer struggling at WR..I may have said yes to the idea of a trade. But so far this year he is making valuable contributions as a WR.. So no way do we trade him. He's still a game changer on special teams too. That and I don't think we would get good value for him as he is not yet polished as a wr and seen more of a special teams guy.. so I doublt we would get fair value.. He is worth far more on our own roster IMO. His returns were a big reason for us winning the Colts game. 2 of his long returns put us in field position where we scored TD's.

Well, maybe the right side of our Oline wouldn't look so bad if we didn't have a pro-bowler on the left. GOTCHA!!! ![]() |

It's not like every great athlete that was a running QB in college can part time learning WR with 5 other functions to master and expect the WR thing to take off. Truth is he never played 1 down as a WR while all other young Wrs he has been compared with were perfecting route running in college. Essentially, he's the LAST guy that can part time learning such a complex position and expect him to look well experienced. If one detested all the previous offensive coaches here, they know he hasn't been fulltiming WR here ever. This isn't as easy as taking a Jevon Kearse from MLB in college to saying sic em out of a 3 point stance. There's so much more to learn and know aginst complicated LeBeau blitz schemes. As for our passing game, last year at this time we were watching Delhomme and Wallace trying to orchestrate the forward pass against some early opponents that were heading for double digit wins like TB, Atl and KC. Our leading receivers were Watson with 68 receptions and Hillis with 60 receptions reminding me we were about to go WR as early as round 2. If memory serves me right, I was the first person posting how much Julio Jones improved in 2010 which was well before the coming out party at the combines. It was very encouraging to see Greg Little stepping up on the most important drive of the Miami game. It certainly helped his QB. I think his addition to the corps makes better opportunities for Cribbs and MoMass. We may not have a traditional #1 WR in the house per say; but I think we have more good ones to pay attention to than we've had. SOME of those are guys we already had with just MORE experience. For the most part, we have a better QB trying to overcome inexperience, RT turbulence and a brand new offense. Therefore, we've been spotty and streaky with the success. If we have the right QB, the next Brian Sipe can make a minimum of 70,000 fans forget the first 58 minutes of football. When Randy Cross of all people reminded me of that on Sunday, it might have been the first game I liked listening to him at least in some instances.

It appears I am not the only one who sees a problem with Miami's OC. This is from a Florida Newspaper.

Just to end this debate, here you go: Summary - Daboll wins by a mile with a backup QB nobody ever heard of, and a coach who was a dead man walking. Bright, young OC with a bright future. The grass is not always greener. ![]() 3rd AFC East (6-10-0) Pts 20.6 (20th) YDS 317.4 (22nd) PASS YDS 193.2 (23rd) RUSH YDS 124.2 (11th) (league rank)

Pretty much not even close, but Miami's offense overall was better than ours and they proved it in the game we played them with Henne at QB (Matt Moore lit it up at Carolina but weak offensive talent exploited his flaws and he eventually found his home again on the bench. Maybe history will repeat itself in Miami) If Daboll has a job in the NFL next year, maybe we should do another compare/contrast to see if there's any growth with Shurmur and further salt in the wound to be so inferior to Daboll given the overwhelming shitstorm we gave Daboll the last two years.
