This game is what made last week all that more frustrating. If the team had played with that kind fo disciplne and preparation last week we'd be 2-0. But I'm a big man. I expected us to lose this week. Shurmur and company get props from me this week. Sure if Manning plays that game we lose. But the sign of an improving team is winning the games you should win. They did that this week. I think the offenseive play calling was a little better. The defense still worries me that they are too much "bend don't break" and the elite teams will break them. But this game is what I expected to see last week. A team that CAN beat other teams if things go well.

and sorry that you'll be disapointed when he's not cut. I said all along little would pass him. I didn't expect it this soon I'll admit. But Robiskie willl stay on the team.

When MY THREAD HERE was about the game, and me admiting I was wrong about what I epxected to see and me giving props to Shurmur and the coaches for getting this team ready this week. and about how I was happy that we won. and stop this "I don't insult people" line like it makes you some angel. I'm glad you're happy that you are right. It's good to know what's most important to you in the world is happening....

WE WON! WE WON! WE WON!!! I'll admit, the stream was kinda laggy for me today and I missed some stuff. What I did see was interesting. Some WTF play calls (Hardesty gets the ball short and goal when we hadn't seen him at all until then?). But all in all they seemed to mix it up. Which is what they needed to do. Yeah, the right side of the line is a major, MAJOR problem. The D was....mmmmm...not bad. Ward and Haden made some great plays as did Tuba and Taylor. But they got winded or something late in the fourth 'cause they let the Colts waltz right down the field for that last TD. That's something that should never happen. Part of that is on the O 'cause I think as Colt gets more experience and protection, we can eat up more clock so there isn't time for the kind of last ditch effort by the other team. All the other crap (stats, etc) don't matter. All that matters at the end of the season is there is a W in the column. |

KIND OF LAGGY? LOL I would lose 5 plays at a time. We had 1st down and then the colts were punting. Keep trying other links at the top, it does help once you find the right one. On hardesty, I was actually ready to put in this thread wondering what happened to Hardesty after week 1 when they seemd to want to get him at least 30% of the carries. I think they realized that Hillis gets better with more touches. I'll be interested to see how they work with these two going forward. BUt agree on the overall playcalling. All of us can pick out a WTF playcall or two. But there wasn't anything as obvious as the goal line situation last week. On the D, I said it already , I'll say it again. It still worries me. We bent but didn't break, but against an elite team I worry we'll break. But most importantly. Shumur and company got this team ready to play after last weeks embarassment, and that's more important to me right now than specific Xs and Os.

Had a blast with the Pinellas Park Browns Backers at Quaker Steak N Lube. Would of liked a bigger, cleaner win but a win is a win. We have to take what we can get at this point.

A lot of players we added last season and this season played some major roles last week and this week: McCoy Little Moore Haden Ward Marecic Hillis Watson Lauvao Pinkston Taylor Sheard Patterson Young Fujita Mitchell That's 16 players. Couple that with the fact we have not seen C Mitchell, Norwood or Hardesty do much, and we have some upside to look forward to once these guys get some games under their belts. I really like what I have been seeing from Patterson. I think he was a good signing. Skrine and Armond Smith are speedsters who can cover like mofo's on the kick and punt coverage teams. Many here said our ST's would suffer but so far we are better than last season. I didn't think the ST's coach was going to make or break our season anyway, but as I said we have improved. We won on the road. We didn't start very well. But the defense -- for two weeks in a row -- played very well, IMO. We need the defense to carry us until the offense gets its act together. All in all, I give this overall team a C+. And to get to 10-6 they need to be at a B+. |

A couple others that I think will improve both our team and their own play: Hickory Dickory and Cameron Jordan. |
