Default What is sorely needed

The linebacking just isn"t up to snuff. I've been saying it since 99'... Our best Linebacker's have been Wimbley and Jamir Miller Both were really DE's.,by trade... which is terribly sad. Earl holmes a distant third (merc). Dqwell doesn't even rank near the top...the dude is a JAG! 2 games and he hasn't stepped up...he gets lost in piles all the damn time. He moves well sideline to sideline but rarely is he impactful. junk IMO..

Does anyone else feel that switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 that the LB's should be a strength?
It isn"t! which is why Mangini shouldn"t even be able to watch a draft!

Some good linebackers emerging in this college class...hope we can go Manti Teo with perhaps the Falcons pick. WE NEED A STUD MLB!!! Have since 99.

I agree with you that we overvalue our LB corps, I disagree with you for asserting that DQJ is a weak link in that corps. IMO I think he's the best we got. It's a little underwhelming that someone like Chris Gocong hasn't stepped up IMO. We have a guy like Titus Brown who's hurt but I think he's got solid up-side. I would like to see us draft a LB, but I think an OLB is more critical than a MLB at this point.

We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.
We aren't Barking Hard for nothing.

Let it go. He had 2 drafts, one with his GM MIA. Really an illogical and odd statement.

Otherwise ...you are correct, we need LBs, and a myriad of other positions filled with legitimate starters, as well as depth players. What a revelation.

I would go RT, RDE, 2 LB, WR, and CB/FS.

I think you are disagreeing with a point I didn't make. DQ may be the best on this corp but he doesn't rank near the top since we have been back(99) which shouldn't be hard to do considering the talent we have had at LB. He gets swallowed up in bodies all the damn time. and MLB is most critical at any point in a 4-3. Playing Jackson on the OLB position at this point is his last option...cause he isn't a good MLB! imo

I have to give Mitchel a full season at RDE before I say we need a new one for sure.

I'd go in order WR, RT, LB, Dline, LB, CB

That's our list of needs.

But with two first round picks, not sure we'd use on on a RT.

Diddnt DQJ light it up in the Cinci game?

You know he already has 19 tackles and 2 sacks right? Thats on pace for almost 160 tackles and 16 sacks on the season.... I think he's our best since we have been back, plus, before the injury he led the league in tackles, doesnt matter how he got them... what matters is that he wraps up and brings them down, unlike many of our other players.

I also think our pass rush would be much better if Benard was starting DE and played all downs. We have hardly used him and he is a weapon
